Holotropic means "moving toward wholeness," from the Greek holos (whole) and trepein (moving in the direction of). The breathwork utilizes the remarkable healing and transformative potential of non-ordinary states of consciousness. These states engender a rich array of experiences with unique healing potential - reliving childhood memories, infancy, birth and prenatal life, and elements from the historical and archetypal realms of the collective unconscious.

Yet by cultivating true refuge in this moment, not only can we find shelter from the storms of life but we also open ourselves up to fully experiencing joy and fulfillment. Here, Tara Brach guides a meditation using the therapeutic R.A.I.N. process for releasing fear and healing through self-compassion.

My favorite Sounds True meditation so far
I have followed along with many Sounds True meditation audio guides and this is my favorite by far. Some of these audio guides sound like they were recorded during a meditation retreat so you can hear various noises in the background, which is distracting to me. However, this guided meditation is free of any extraneous sounds outside of Dr. Kornfield's calming voice. I also like this guided meditation because it can be used by someone trying meditation for the first time, or someone with more experience. I tend to like all of Jack Kornfield's or Tara Brach's guided meditations, but this is the one I keep coming back to, especially if it's been a while since I've meditated. Thank you.
