Critic reviews

“This book reminds us of what is most important and not to be taken for granted—and how to align our lives with that vital awakening to the beauty and possibility that is always present amidst the darkness and the fear.”—Jon Kabat-Zinn, founder of MBSR (mindfulness-based stress reduction) and author of Full Catastrophe Living and Mindfulness for All

“Like gratefulness itself, the book comfortably holds extremes: it’s expansive yet concise, individual yet relational, and personal yet universal. It represents an abiding belief in abundance and fierce commitment to wonder, but it’s also grounded in reality, recognizing that life is uncertain and hard, and that it is lived in a flawed, fallible body. Wisdom and grace abound in the text, which is calm and cognizant of the fact that people are seeking gratefulness amid raging battles and hard circumstances. Wake Up Grateful is an invitation to a new way of living, even in the most challenging times.”—Foreword Reviews

Wake Up Grateful will make you think about gratefulness more deeply and give thanks more widely. This is not a book to rush through, but to savor. The pages crackle with raw honesty, deep wisdom, profound realizations, and practical guidelines. Reading it was a true gift, and left me more convinced than ever before that gratefulness is the deepest touchpoint of human existence.”—Robert Emmons, professor of psychology at University of California–Davis, and author of Thanks! How Practicing Gratitude Can Make You Happier, Gratitude Works!, and The Little Book of Gratitude

Clear guidance for living a grateful life

I am loving this book so much. The author’s personal story of surviving stage 4 cancer at a young age, which taught her to take nothing for granted, is powerful. The book is organized around a series of principles and practices for grateful living - with suggestions for how to apply them
In real life, with real difficulties and uncertainties. The author is narrating and I find her voice soothing and delightful.

A Great way to Live Through Soul Centered Eyes!

Title Came to me for my birthday. Perfect timing for dealing with the death yesterday of my brother in law. My former wife got my gift of the book today. I am on my second listening and have bought the hard copy for notes as well. A free way to live. Free from the self imposed prison of grief, anger, greed, envy, and all the emotions the Ego brings up to us when we are not gratefu.

Seeing through Soul Centered Eyes is Awakening to our Grateful Soul. We are able to remove the rocks we insist on putting in our backback daily. Free at last, Free at last. The Prison door of our living is unlocked. All we need is to open the door with a grateful heart and Soul. The Nature of God is Love. The Nature of Human Kind is Love.

A wonderfully important book and the philosophy which will sustain us

This book is a gift to humanity.

In 2006, I was diagnosed and treated for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and I felt the authenticity of Kristi’s experience. In 1976, I survived what could have been a fatal van crash. Living mindfully to be present, rejecting taking things for granted / living with fear/ feeling crushed with anxiety and allowing negativity to hold power.

Being in the here and now, in your body, connected to other people and nature, living boldly your values.

This book is spiritual but not about religion. Being grateful works.

Excellent! Loved everything about it, content & narrator. So many useful insights that I can apply.

Have already shared with a friend. Am planning to order hard copy as well, as there are so many passages I want to revisit. The author has a beautiful way of weaving the words together.

Wake up Grateful

Based on my favorite teacher’s beliefs, David Stendhal Rast, it didn’t have the same touching effect on me. I think it lacked more human experiences in the text.
