About this listen

You can’t fight a war without guns.

Charlie and his friends need to arm their ship, but they have a small problem—black market particle cannons cost a lot of money. And they don’t have any.

Which leaves them only one option. They have to steal the guns from the Anguilar Empire.

It’s a daring plan, but it backfires when Laranna is captured by the enemy and taken back to her homeworld of Strada, which has been conquered and garrisoned by the Empire.

Charlie won’t abandon her, and when he and Giblet crash land on Strada, they’re forced to team up with the local resistance fighters to free not only Laranna, but the whole planet.

If they win, they’ll have struck the first meaningful blow in the war against the Anguilar.

If they lose...not only are Charlie and his friends dead, but tens of thousands of innocent civilians could die in reprisal.

Can a college student from Earth, taken to the stars by forces beyond his control, win the first victory in an interstellar war?

It's a good way to continue the story and the characters were pretty well thought out.

Good follow-up book

I'm here on the block the second book was very good I would say better than the first book in terms of character development and world building which makes sense since it's building on top of what was laid in the first book. The reader again was excellent able to convey different characters by changing their voice and add just the right amount of emotion when required to make the dialogue believable.

Even better than the first book

Always afraid to try new narration by someone other the RC Bray (: story was very interesting and, although the narrator at times sounded like Casey Casem, lol did an awesome job with an awesome story.

Presently surprised

Typical let the main bad guy get away, go through all the trouble of capturing him, after killing dozens, but can’t kill the most evil person.

Typical

I really enjoyed this book, more than the first one of the series. The characters are developing nicely now and the story just keeps getting better! Non stop action and humor mixed with good old fashioned sci fi. Can’t wait to see what happens next!

This is becoming my favorite new series

The story continued from the first and expanded the background stories of the main characters. Is some what predictable in places but not too much to distract from story. The pacifies except talk was a little weird, well maybe not weird but not always easy to follow, granted was listening to that on a noise plane so might have missed some stuff over the noise.

The bit about waiting 20 years then locals going all in was a little hard to believe, would have think a bit more foot dragging.

overall though a good second book

Book two just as good as first
