About this listen
I’m a small-town accountant, not a detective—but when my latest client ends up dead, I’m suddenly neck-deep in another murder mystery.
Archibald Windsor was a sweet old man who just wanted to leave his money to charity. Too bad someone wanted him dead first. Now, I’m stuck dodging shady suspects, and trying to keep my cat, Shadow, from leading me into even more trouble.
My love life is about as messy as the murder investigation. Jackson, the local reporter (and maybe my future boyfriend?), isn’t too happy that I suspect his uncle. Whoops.
The handsome Sheriff isn’t too pleased with me either. He keeps telling me to butt out, but every time I try, I find another clue.
Now, with more red herrings than a fish market, I’ve got to catch a killer before they catch me—or worse, poison my chances of getting out alive.

Story
Two little girls stand with their heads bowed in my living room. I’m told they’re my granddaughters. Daisy is nine, and Alice seven. Daisy is the spitting image of her mother. This is the first time I’ve met them since my daughter and I fell out after she married that waste of space, Vince. They’ve come to live with me because their mother — my daughter — was murdered. In her own home while they slept close by. I think Vince killed her. But the police can’t prove it. I’ve always known he was no good. He treated my daughter like dirt. I said he’d cheat on her — but she wouldn’t listen.

Story
Kidnappers grabbed Jenna in broad daylight, right in front of her children and their horrified classmates. Her family was issued an insane ransom demand: $25 million in cash and jewels, payable by the end of the school day, otherwise they’ll never see her again. As Jenna’s mother scrambles to gather the money, detectives Mo Butler and George Ortega follow the trail of the kidnappers, which will lead them through a sordid landscape of jealous lovers, broken dreamers, and twisted schemers. But every second counts, and there’s one thing Jenna Wade doesn’t have: very much time.

Sienna has returned to Tennessee, along with her new husband, Pierre, from the honeymoon of a lifetime in France, only to be hit with two diabolical cases. The cases were back-to-back, and both were much too close to home. Will this year’s Thanksgiving be a feast filled with giving thanks or a day of mourning two lost dreams, with Christmas just weeks away?

Story
Everyone in Athena, Mississippi, knows Charlie Harris, the good-natured librarian with a rescued Maine coon cat named Diesel that he walks on a leash. He's returned to his hometown to immerse himself in books, but soon enough he's entangled in a real-life thriller. A famous author of gory bestsellers and a former classmate of Charlie's, Godfrey Priest may be the pride of Athena, but Charlie remembers him as an arrogant, manipulative jerk—and he's not the only one. Godfrey's homecoming as a distinguished alumnus couldn't possibly go worse: by lunch, he's put a man in the hospital.
