About this listen

Goodreads Author of the Year 2012, Nominee.

2012, Goodreads Reader's Choice Nominee, Best Romance.

She's ready for the ride of her life....

Lauren Grahame is looking for her bit of peace. After leaving her cheating husband, Lauren moves to Carnal, Colorado, and gets a job as a waitress in a biker bar called Bubba's. It's a nothing job in a nowhere joint...until Tatum Jackson walks in.

Lauren has never seen a man with such looks and attitude. But Tate does something Lauren doesn't much like and she doesn't want anything to do with him. Too bad for Lauren he's also the bar's part-owner and bartender. When the rough-around-the-edges Tate meets the high-class Lauren, he thinks she won't fit in at Bubba's.

Yet there's more to Lauren than meets the eye, and Tate soon sets his mind on claiming her as his own. Before long, they can't deny the attraction that's pulling them together. But when violence strikes the town, threatening the women in it, their sweet dreams may come to an end.

first read by Kristen Ashley

Fabulous! Finally, a 5 star review! This romance kept me hooked from page 1. Believable, actually has a plot with amazing bedroom scenes. For those who enjoy books which contain just enough conflict, a struggle to solve them, and a happy ending, you will love this book!

Storyline good

The storyline is great! The author has the character say "um", "sorry?" And "Tate" way too much. It starts to get annoying by chapter 10. Other than that, the storyline itself is interesting enough to keep the reader on.

loved it.

I almost didn't get this because I thought it was all about motorcycles etc, and it wasn't. I thought the characters were well developed, the story was a fabulous, sweet, story. I thought it was almost perfect. The narrator was amazing with each character.

Narrator is monotone, ruins a great listen

Loved this book when I read it, was really looking forward to listening. The narrator is monotone and has a character range of maybe 1. Disappointing.

Better than expected and pleasantly surprised!

I had a really hard time in the beginning. I couldn’t get past the narrators voice at the beginning. Started and stopped on a few occasions and started other books. I didn’t have any left in my library so decided to give this another try. I got into it after the first few minutes and overall really enjoyed it. I ended up liking the narrator but for some reason found her voice annoying in the beginning.

Love this author

Kristen is a great storyteller and I love the way she leaves few dangling threads except for those necessary for a future book. I’ve been married for 53 years next month to a still handsome
sexy Air Force guy who asked me to marry after knowing me 48 hours…my fairy tale. He still takes my breath away.
