Publisher's summary

In a war of hearts, fates will be sealed. But in a battle of thrones, no bond may be truly unbreakable.

A COURT . . .

To reclaim her throne, Tauria leaves behind her safety to travel across courts. A marriage alliance with the prickly Prince of Olmstone could grant her the power to fight for her kingdom . . . or inspire a monarch's deadly vengeance that threatens all she holds dear.

A BOND . . .

No amount of distance can make Nik forget his desires, but caught in a torturous conflict of heart against duty, he's at risk of losing both. Now is the time to choose. Claim the bond and accept the prophesy that kept him from her all this time . . . or set his aching heart-and hers-free once and for all.

A DARKNESS . . .

But peace is never promised when the shadow of war looms, and Tauria's harrowing discoveries foretell a damning fate of evil to all those who bear a crown. To love may be to condemn, but to deny would be a far deadlier curse at the hands of the sinister forces intent on taking them down.

Good but slow

I love the world building and characters. The arch is reeeeallly slow but the pay off at the end makes you want to read book 5

Good story but narrator is slow

So far I’m enjoying the story a lot! The characters are likable and it’s a fun story!
The narrator speaks very slowly and I found I needed to speed the story up a lot.

Great story!

They story is great but the pace too slow. it's a great read just full of angst and emotional turmoil. More fierce heroin action would make this perfect. The story drags at times but is worth reading every word.

Slow to get to the most exciting parts

This story is intriguing enough to keep
Me reading. However, I had to take long breaks from the unending self-loathing, self-pity, self-sacrificing, self-analyzing, desiring, denying, agonizing over decisions on and on.

Love

This book takes place during the same timeframe as book 3, but focuses on Nik/Tauria and Jackon/Marlowe’s perspectives. We get a lot of unanswered questions resolved. Really enjoyed it !

Boring

Personally, Nick and Tauria's love story bored me to tears. I kept wanting to skip to book 5 but I hoped it would pick up at some point. The second to last chapter was the only one worth while and then the last chapter and epilogue was agony again. I do love this series though so I'll definitely still continue in hopes they take the back burner in the main story

Confusing names

I enjoyed the story but I found it a little hard to follow story lines when the names all sounded so similar. I actually don’t remember some of the names but it’s close like: Rylan, Tolan, toran, Zora, Lera, Kiera, Keren, Meran, merlie. What helps keep the story a little more straight are some main character, names, Faith and Nick.
