About this listen

An academy that scrapes the sky. Blight that fills the earth. Two codgers duking it out.

Artorian has decided to live, all in order to save his lost village children. His recent battle against a simple raider captain has proven that if he tries to charge ahead...he'll die.

With the help of his captors, who quickly turn into close friends, Artorian takes the first steps onto the path of a true cultivator. Finesse, skill, fine-tuned cultivation techniques, and more is within his grasp. Artorian is more than willing to learn; after all, that's his specialty!

This knowledge has strings attached. After meeting the ancient enemy of his trainers, Artorian returns to the place he first studied his true passion of philosophy: the Skyspear. It's under new management, and the alumni have very different ideas about how the students should be trained.

Great progression from book 1z

Like the first book there is a vary strong plot centered core to this book, well two, but they are directly feeding into the wonderful characters who take center stage for the whole book. This is one of my favorite series for characterization in the genera.
Like the other DDU series this book is full of references, but the references feel… less out of place. I’m not sure if it’s because their more subtle, because the main charecter is so silly, or simply because I’ve gotten used to it but I’ve felt a lot less like I want to comment on them and a lot more that I want to comment on the charecters.
I can’t wait to read the next book, in fact I’m going to start listening to it in just a few minutes when I’m done writing this. This series is very refreshing and I’m hoping that I won’t get any fetigue before the end. If I do, I suppose I can always listen to a book in the middle. After all, I do have my literary plan.
DDU series are more numeras then VGO series, or at least it feels that way. I’m not sure weather sheer numbers agree. It’s just that these series are far more long winded than the short and new VGO book lines.

absolutely stunning

this is only book two of this series but I had to go and buy the rest, everything about it appealed to me from the way arturian started to where he is now... stunning. every interaction this man has makes me long for something better in the rear world. arturian is genuine, kind, and all around just a breathtaking human being. makes me sad but he doesn't really exist.
