A key to positive parenting

Parenting isn't easy (to say the least!) and there is no doubt that we all have our own internal highs & lows to deal with whilst trying to provide the best care for our kids. It is so easy to lose sight of what matters and to transfer our impatience and frustrations onto our little ones! This book is a wonderful tool to gain some insight into the factors that trigger us and how to regulate our own emotions to communicate in a more effective way. It made me rethink the way I interact with others and how my own approach is heavily tainted by my past experiences. A highly interesting listen that I absolutely recommend.

One of the things I appreciated most about this book was the author's compassionate approach. The author acknowledges that parenting can be incredibly challenging, and that it's normal to feel angry or frustrated at times. Rather than making you feel guilty for your emotions, he provides practical strategies to help you manage them in a healthy way.
The book is divided into clear, easy-to-read chapters that address common parenting challenges like dealing with tantrums, setting boundaries, and managing stress. Each chapter provides a wealth of tips and techniques that you can apply in your daily life, whether you're dealing with a difficult toddler or a moody teenager.

These strategies are a game changer

It completely transformed the way I view myself and helped me make sense of the intricate web of my behavior and personality. I used to think I was a confident person, but deep down, I was just a people pleaser trying to fit in. This book peeled back the layers and exposed the truth, giving me a newfound understanding of who I am and why I act the way I do.

The author's writing style is captivating, and the practical tips are a lifesaver. They've given me the tools I need to start working towards a more authentic and fulfilling life. Plus, the audiobook version is expertly narrated, making it an enjoyable and immersive experience from start to finish. It's a must-read (or listen!) for anyone who wants to uncover their true self and live their best life.

Essential advice for staying in control

I'm glad I came across this audiobook. I'm not a particularly angry person, but, like anyone, my patience can be tested from time to time, and then I spend sleepless nights worrying about how badly I've reacted.

When you lose your cool and engage in knee-jerk reactions you can unintentionally set your child on the path to developing negative attitudes and behaviour patterns that are harmful to their long-term development. This is the last thing you want for your child, but when you're caught up in a fractious moment, it's difficult not to react in a way that your rational self dislikes.

I want to be able to avoid these pitfalls and so took a punt on this audiobook. I'm so glad I did, the knowledge and expertise is second to none and it gives you the key to avoiding this unproductive and distressing cycle.

John Clifford has created an excellent blueprint for calm and rational parenting .He discusses why you react angrily and provides advice and strategies to help you respond in a controlled and rational manner. John offers effective methods for establishing positive, harmonious connections with children, and Kyle Cruzat's narration perfectly compliments the subject matter. For any parent who's found themselves being provoked into a negative and angry reaction this is well worth a listen!

You can be a cool parent

Awesome audiobook. Excellent content and narration. Gives a comprehensive guide to understanding what anger is, why it arises, how you can tame it and form a good relationship with your kids. Enjoyed the author’s anecdotes and examples. I was reminded of things from my childhood and how my parents could have used the things discussed here to be parents in controlling their anger issues. Definitely recommend listening if you want to conquer anger issues, be a cool parent and bond well with your kids.

Anger is not a parenting tool or strategy!

I enjoyed reading this book and thought the author did a good job of covering the information needed by angry parents. Anger from a parent can be reflected in the lives of their children.
He traces back and helps the reader identify the underlying causes of anger. He speaks to readers about how anger relates to personality types, which can be very helpful. He also takes a look at screen time for both child and parent.
I found this book very helpful for those that want to understand their anger in order to keep it out of the relationship they build with their child(ren). I recommend it if this is a problem you have as a parent.
