About this listen

The world has ended, and those worthy of it have received the chance for a new life in a new reality.

Zach grew in power and thrived in the post-Framework world. He became a respected leader, a shining example of what it meant to be good. But as the world ended, he had only one thought: to punish the monster that had killed the world long before the Framework ended it. Yet not even with his incredible power was he able to stand against the World Ender. His arrival in the new realty, the Infinite Realm, gives him the chance to grow stronger, to find the monster again - and make it pay.

Ryun survived the chaos after the arrival of the Framework by pushing harder than anyone else. He grew in power until he became the most powerful being that had ever walked the planet; but he is hated by the world, called a monster by all others, the World Ender. As the world ends and he steps into a new one, where people stronger than him have lived for centuries, he finds himself lost and without purpose. The only thing that had mattered to him had been lost to him long ago. He truly was the monster that people considered him to be, and he now finds himself wondering if this new reality has a place for someone like him - but he had never been one for lying down and dying without a fight. One world fell to his power, and another might follow.

Great Start to a new LitRPG Saga!

I really enjoy the concept of having a cultivation path in a book series. There isn't an overwhelming leveling system and you won't get the annoying DING process either. The story makes a solid start as long as you do not mind past\present chapters. I am eager for a sequel!

epic characters!!

I love that the characters don't fit in normal boxes like good and evil, right or wrong...

Monsters and Legends

I tried the first book of the other series and I did not feel anything close to a connection with the writers work here. Maybe that other series gets better. I’m sure it does. I’d wager that was his earlier work cause this book and series is a damn masterpiece. It’s completely different then first defire but they do share the basic elements and aspects. With levels, skill concepts, cultivation. Sometimes different wording. Anyways as I said same elements which I love having all when done well but this story was very original in the execution as well as blurring the line on who is the protagonist and how someone can become a monster and a hero while only caring about staying true to one’s self and where you stand by your words with incredible integrity and conviction. This book was so exciting. Very sad too and that goes far all of the series so far

One of the best

This book ( and entire series) is a really well done with in depth story / characters especially a for a LitRPG which can sometimes leave you wanting. You might think 34 hours is a long book but im telling you you'll be coming back for more and wont want to stop listening. 100% recommend you will not regret it.

Fascinating Cultivation Story

Author: Ivan Kal. Book: Monsters and Legends. Narrator: Phil Thron. Really fascinating cultivation story. Now, the pacing might not work for all since time is spent on the cultivation part and all the stats and names and power levels. That aside, which worked for me, lead to a great story featuring Ryun. Plenty of action, be it monster fights or humans. Groundwork laid for what I’m assuming will be interesting stories ahead. DRmz 7-17-24

Author can be long-winded but worth reading and overall a good book.

I enjoyed this book. I would recommend it, some parts feel redundant. But I’d still recommend. The author does a good job making you care about root for his characters.
