About this listen

A young man's death is only the beginning when he elects to pursue divinity in a realm where gods and monsters are all too real.

Luke was your typical nine-to-five office drone when he was killed in a head-on car collision during his morning commute. Instead of going to heaven, Luke's soul is brought to a hellish realm on the verge of total destruction, where two supernatural beings soon engage in brutal combat. Defeating her rival, the victorious Arke prepares to claim her prize, the powerful God Seed. But the ancient artifact has plans of its own, offering to soul-bond with Luke, who accepts and flees to the world of Theos to escape Arke's wrath.

There, on the island of Carim, Luke is guided by the God Seed to take possession of the body of a recently deceased fisherman and embark on quests that will help him ascend to godhood. But his resurrection does not go unnoticed. The elderly Nefkha has been charged by a pantheon of deities drawn straight from myth to locate a thief on the run. Realizing Luke is the one the gods seek, Nefkha strikes a bargain to keep the younger man's identity secret in exchange for help with a mysterious task.

Now, to survive a manhunt orchestrated by the rulers of his strange new world, Luke must ensure Nefkha doesn't betray him—and learn how to wield a mighty relic desired by forces far beyond his imagination . . .

gods

Finally a good book about becoming a God. I also really enjoy that fact they threw in the Olympian gods and other myths to really create something special.

The author kept it simple. The narrator did a good job. A better book than most.

The author doesn’t drown the story in moral justifications, or go out of his way to be sadistic. There is no harem in this book has no explicit scenes. In my opinion, these things made this book more enjoyable than 99% of the books in the LIT RPG cultivation genre. I’m not saying that this book was perfect but that it’s better than most other fad chasing books in the genre.

Great story

Looks like I found another decent story to follow. Didn’t like the main character asking dumb questions all the time but overall a great story. I’ll be on the lookout for book two.

Great start! I am on board for the next one

I enjoyed this. The story was well done! I am re-listening to this before the next release and i really only re-listen to the ones i like a lot. 200 audio books in. I think its the narrator that makes this feel like an unfinished piece. I don't think this person is the ideal candidate. their female voices are a little grading. i think this narrator would be awesome for history books, but the voice chang-over is not doing it for him.

This is an interesting book not great but it's a good book something to read while you're by the pool one of those things that if you like the whole pantheon stuff then Hey you're like this it has all your favorite heroes from Hercules to Jason It's just one of those books

It was worth the credit. I look forward to book 2

I’ve read at least 50 books in this genre. This is a good one. The title of this review says the rest.
