America falls. Heroes rise.
It came without warning—a one-two punch of economic collapse and deadly pandemic flu that shattered the United States and the entire world.
Army veteran Eric Jaeger and paramedic Susan Walker flee the disintegrating Milwaukee suburbs for the Montana survival retreat run by Eric’s buddy, Manny Landeros. They join an eclectic group of friends forced to adapt to a lawless post-apocalyptic world in which kindness and human decency end at Manny’s property line.
Their hopes of weathering the catastrophe in secrecy are dashed when a wealthy despot seizes power and hatches a horrific plot with the remnants of a federal government desperate to regain control at any cost. When the enigmatic leader of a growing resistance movement asks Manny’s group to join the fight, they must decide whether to risk everything to defeat a tyrant—and in Eric’s case, risk sacrificing Susan on freedom’s altar.
For Eric and his friends, the end of the world is only the beginning.
The first book in the riveting Unraveling series, Big Sky Fallen is perfect for fans of Kyla Stone, Jeff Kirkham, and the One Second After novels—as well as for anyone who worries that our nation is barreling off of a cliff.

Great it took place in Montana. Like all of these dystopian stories there is always too much coincidence like when being attacked someone finds a machine gun, etc.. As like in a video game someone gets more power.
Then to, the author slims in some DEI and environmental characters or comments. But as I. all these stories, they are imaginative, what if scenarios and I'll say this book was a good listen.
I liked the story took place in Montana
