Publisher's summary

In the aftermath of an interstellar war with an alien race, Captain James Drake is unjustly court martialed. But Drake won't go down without a fight. Rather than surrender, he'll lead his loyal crew into the frontier worlds to repair and rearm. The best Naval Scifi you'll find anywhere.

I loved every moment. Barnes was superb. I'll miss these characters for a long time.

Awesome Sci-fi Trilogy

I was expecting Cpt Garlicky or something...that is NOT what you get. Instead you get an awesome romp through space with killer turkeys at your throat with a sugar addicted potential alien ally. This guy can write...loved it, kept me glued to the story thru 6 books.

G00D Purchase...price per lbs

The amount of listening you get, for the price of 1 credit, makes it a bargain...
A little repetitive, predictable, and the narrator's voice aristocratic and annoying.

Well worth it. recharge your ear pods.

The boxset was a boon. The story is deep expansive and personal. The cast of characters are wide ranged and entertaining.

Each main character has enough depth to emphasize with them and the plot twist will get and keep you going. But not sooo much that you get bored.

No reveals here, but like most books, art imitates life. You will see the parallels and enjoy them.

The boxset is like bringing Netflix. Just one more chapter...

A good read.

A great series of books

I fully recommend this series of books. follow the adventures of the crew of blackbeard through civil war to fighting for their lives against a enemy that offers no quarter.

Good Listen

The book was good and entertaining, but not the kind of "you cannot miss anything they say" type of book. I dozed off several times or got distracted, then went back to paying attention and didn't miss anything significant. Overall, I would recommend

Exellent story and engaging characters

Very good story containing entertaining characters and story. The pace is satisfying and filled to the brink with both strategy, storytelling and a satisfying sense for detail. Absolutely worth listening to.

Imaginative story lines and characters.

Not a fan of British class BS, but the interactions with other races was interesting.

great story, great deal!

So... I didn't originally get this book because I really don't like 7 hour books. especially when all my favorite authors write 20-60 hour novels. I was really happy to see that the superbox was released. and I might get the Void queen trilogy as individual books. 4 credits for 70 hours is a decent deal.

I liked the books. the story was engaging, the characters were likeable, there was a little bit of humor here and there. I liked the struggle with Sugar. it seemed so simple, but it added an interesting flavor to the story that intrigued me.

The narrator made me feel like British was his native dialect. When he spoke in American English, it felt kind of... dry and clipped, but, maybe I am not as used to hearing British English, he sounded much more fluid and natural. His portrayal of the characters was much more natural than his narration style. It wasn't enought to distract from the story.
