Milton Frederick never had the chance to live out his life as a professional gamer on Earth, mainly because he was abducted by aliens. Unfortunately, he wasn’t returned home after the typical probing associated with such things to tell an unbelievable story to his friends. Instead, he was summarily killed, and his consciousness was inserted into a Station Core, a giant metal egg-shaped object that could use technology to create traps, Combat Units, and other defenses to protect not just himself, but those he cared about.

Through many difficult scenarios and by adapting to his new form, Milton was eventually able to escape the planet he crash-landed upon with the help of some new friends. Now, traveling back to Collective space using the ships he had built with the help of his versatile drones, the Station Core’s goal is to fulfill a promise to his personal AI guide, ALANNA, to free the races that had built his Core from the grips of the Heliothropes, a war-like race that had been threatening to overtake them when he was abducted so long ago.

What they find waiting for them when they arrive is not what any of them were expecting.

Dimensional Dungeon Cores is a continuation of the Station Cores, Dungeon Crafting, Dungeon World, and Dungeon Fairy series, though it can be enjoyed without having listened to any of the previous books. This story contains LitRPG and GameLit mechanics, Dungeon Core elements including dungeon construction and defense, and optional stat tables in the form of footnotes. Contains scarce foul language, no harems, and no sexual content.

I was lucky to not have listened to any of the dungeon fairy series so when this book arrived in that dimension (about 19 hours from the end of this) I immediately switched to the dungeon fairy series.. it made for a very engaging segway

Great story arc

Another amazing story from Jonathan Brooks. I absolutely loved the books. Great conclusion to the existing series and I loved the interactions between the different main characters.

Enjoyed seeing all the cores come together…wish Chance would have been able to play a roll beyond that of a simulation…overall good ending/tie-ins

This story is just so much fun! Having the entire series in one book to listen to continuously was fantastic! Off to get another of the prequels!! You don't need to read any of the other series to thoroughly enjoy this one although it does make it exciting when characters you know are introduced, but you don't lose anything not knowing them beforehand.

Oh heck yeah

The way you know it’s a great crossover series is that this series can also stand alone without needing to read the other series. They did have a dual cast narration but Sandra was the only female vocalized. All the female vocals were done by a male voice. Most background characters who had very little to do with anything were vocalized poorly like the narrator had to many characters to cover to really worry about giving them any personality. The story was amazing it was just the performance that hinders the review.

Amazing crossover series

I typically don’t write reviews, who wants to hear the opinion of a 50 year old fat guy? However JB asks for a review after his books so I figured I would throw the ol’ boy a bone and give him a review.

I don’t particularly like Lit RPG, I’m not even sure what it stands for, but don’t really care either because I enjoy the stories. I’ve read (listened) to over 20 something book from Jonathan (all the Dungeon series stuff plus a few others) he always tells a good story and I find myself staying up at nights listening to his books when I should be going to bed.

I started listening to his work because I was screening books before my young daughter reads them. There have been times when she is reading a great story then it abruptly turns into literary pornography. In order to protect from that I started trying to stay ahead of her reading lists.

I have yet to find anything un-appropriate in Jonathan’s books. With the exception of Alanna’s potty mouth (smile) there is nothing in these books that is offensive. Other than books with Alanna in them, I would recommend these for younger audiences as well.

I have yet to find a book of Jonathan’s I didn’t enjoy and would at this point recommend anything he has written.

I like this guys work
