About this listen

The new twisty, gripping audiobook from B. A. Paris, the author of the instant New York Times and USA Today best-selling titles Behind Closed Doors and The Breakdown

“We’re in a new Golden Age of suspense writing now, because of amazing books like Bring Me Back, and I for one am loving it.” (Lee Child)

She went missing. He moved on. A whole world of secrets remained - until now.

Finn and Layla are young, in love, and on vacation. They’re driving along the highway when Finn decides to stop at a service station to use the restroom. He hops out of the car, locks the doors behind him, and goes inside. When he returns Layla is gone - never to be seen again. That is the story Finn told to the police. But it is not the whole story.

Ten years later Finn is engaged to Layla’s sister, Ellen. Their shared grief over what happened to Layla drew them close, and now they intend to remain together. Still, there’s something about Ellen that Finn has never fully understood. His heart wants to believe that she is the one for him...even though a sixth sense tells him not to trust her.

Then, not long before he and Ellen are to be married, Finn gets a phone call. Someone from his past has seen Layla - hiding in plain sight. There are other odd occurrences: long-lost items from Layla’s past that keep turning up around Finn and Ellen’s house. Emails from strangers who seem to know too much. Secret messages, clues, warnings. If Layla is alive - and on Finn’s trail - what does she want? And how much does she know?

A tour de force of psychological suspense, Bring Me Back will have listeners questioning everything and everyone until its stunning climax.

Paris writes mind scramblers: you’re dizzy and questioning your own memory by the end. This book is no exception yet the story was boring. It was not gripping, heart pumping or page turning like the previous 2. I fell asleep three times. It was a bore and a painful, tedious finish by the end and encompasses everything that I consider bad writing: lots of telling instead of showing—I loathe long monologue confessions. The ending was half surprising.

Mind scrambling but the others are better

Forget everything you think, everything you know and sit back and listen to this masterpiece. I’m a seasoned Audible lister and psychological thrillers are my niche. It’s rare when I find one that stands alone. This book is one of few. I don’t want to go into the story that might give anything away. You won’t be disappointed!!
I don’t think this book would make a good movie however because you need to be in the characters head a lot to make it work. The readers were great as well.

TWISTED THRILLER AT ITS BEST

Fantastic. Kept me guessing until the end. I wish things could have ended better for Fin...though. Kind of hated the ending because of that...but GREAT story!

Loved it!

Sometimes characters gain our sympathy. This was not the case. Annoying on many levels. Definitely not one of Paris’s better stories and I’m otherwise. A huge fan. Well performed, though.

Frustrating

I loved this book right up to when it went down hill. I don't understand why it ended this way. I loved the breakdown and listened to it over and over and also behind closed doors.

Great until the end....

as always from B.A Paris this is a interesting story, the suspense will have you very anxious, I find it absolutely fascinating how the author can capture mental illness

Suspenseful

The narrator switches off between shouting so loud it hurts your ears and speaking so quietly you cannot hear, so be prepared to adjust the volume quite often. However the story is intriguing and overall I enjoyed it.

Good story

Wow. What a book! The narration was more than superb! Kevin was such an awesome narrator. He brought the novel to live! Can’t wait to read mother one of B.A Paris’ book!

certain things didnt connect and the end felt rushed and like an afterthought. I'm disappointed

the ending was a bit of a stretch.

The story is slow and kind of pointless, and not making much sense until you get to the end.
