Publisher's summary

Dan’s first tournament may have ended, but life goes on. His luck is still with him in his regular life as well, and it seems to be endless. However, he is surrounded by very smart people, and surely one of them is going to start doubting his talents, at least a bit?

Especially now, with a new game about to start. The latest foes are even more dangerous than the last and the rules are still unfamiliar to him. Dan wonders how reasonable the rules are in the first place. Is it really possible to take a competition that lasts a couple of hours at most seriously? A competition in which you are supposed to work together with simple monsters in order to destroy the enemy base?

And so, the story of an ordinary Russian guy who suddenly found himself in the future continues, and another battle between his luck and the rest of the world is about to start. Who will come out on top?

An ending that brings hope to all men

For some reason the “Code Hero” books leave me somewhat confused. However despite this I find the books very pleasing. The multiple perspective story-lines, from the various characters, is an excellent way of telling multiple stories in one book; each of which could actually stand on their own. Albeit in the form of novellas. However this book stands out from the first one with its ending. It really made me feel that there could be hope that somewhere out there, there is a woman that would feel joy in discovering who I really am and in so doing, be willing to run and smile and look forward to see what the future holds, with me.

Ok story

Not bad, not as entertaining as the first one but good enough to finish the entire thing while doing something else.

Mr. Bean meets Lit-RPG

I love the story, especially changing from characters perspectives. I just wish the accent matched the character description, Dan is Russian… I feel like a bumbling Russian accent would have been funnier and more appropriate for what the writer imagined.

My Favorite Series

I absolutely love the way this series is written, it's just so beautiful and human with all the misunderstandings. Thank you to the authors and actors alike, great job.

Silly

Silly, but I liked it a lot. All of that inner dialogue and assumptions while succeeding cracked me up.

Just keeps getting better

Picture a hapless average guy who competes against highly trained analytical geniuses, makes really bizarre decisions - and wins. Based on some of the other reviews, I guess this isn't for everyone, but I love it. Every now and then, Dan does something and Maxwell Smart (from the 1960's series Get Smart) flashes into my head.

Easy and fun listen, great play on bad assumptions

Enjoyed the book thoroughly. Some of the mis perceptions were a bit of a stretch but let it slide to really just enjoy a fun listen.
