Publisher's summary

Well, that was sudden! Shamus turns on the television to discover that the planet has been invaded. Drew, Sabastian, and Mary, along with Shamus and an alien visitor, Teak, are all that survived the swift apocalypse.

Forming the resistance did not take long, as there’s only five of them, but they will put up a fight nonetheless.

Nobody saw it coming, nobody expected it, and nobody could have imagined the fight that followed....

Comedic Invasion

Things can happen in the blink of an eye – well, nothing good happens that quickly so when five unlikely heroes discover the world has been invaded … it was quicker than the blink of an eye!

Simon Carr, the author, skillfully weaves an engaging and imaginative tale, introducing the audience to two distinct worlds – one under siege and the other seizing control! In addition, his development of character is captivating and entertaining! He skillfully portrays heroes as not always obvious. His character development of Drew, Sabastian, Mary, Shamus, and Teak is vivid, authentic, and enjoyable! It’s like a meeting of Abbott and Costell with The Three Stooges! The dialogue was rich and kept the listener immersed in the action.

The narrator, Adam Brown, skillfully delivered the story with unique voices and a strong flawless delivery. Honestly, how he managed to deliver some of the lines without busting out laughing is amazing! I found he was very adept at expressing the action and mood of each character and scene in an engaging manner. He spoke clearly and with a polished voice.

This was a fun book as both the author and narrator complimented one another and the story!

Cosmic Comedic Blunders

Da' Resistance is a well written, humorous book that kept me laughing from the very first chapter. When the main characters have their DNA scrambled to save their lives, oh boy, the fun and blunders began. I won't give spoilers, but I will say this if you are looking for an out if this world action-packed laugh out loud bookblook no further. I received this book for free upon my request. I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased review here voluntarily of my own volition. This book is a MUST READ or LISTEN because the narrator voices and comedic timing are hysterical.

Improbable Heroes

This story was entertaining. Aliens have taken over the planet. The resistance was formed by five unlikely heroes. This group included an alien visitor named Teak. Simon Carr's creative writing grabbed my attention. I enjoyed his sense of the ridiculousness and his ability to share that through his writing as I found it amusing. Mr. Adam Brown's narration was awesome, and his performance added to the enjoyment of the story. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

A thrilling twist on the invasion trope!

"Da' Resistance" by Simon Carr, narrated by Mr. Adam Brown, offers a thrilling twist on the invasion trope. Carr's writing is as sharp as the unexpected invasion itself, and Brown's narration adds depth to the characters. Join this unlikely group of survivors in a battle you won't see coming; it's a must-read for fans of fast-paced sci-fi adventures.

Hilarious and Fun

I loved this book. It was fun, entertaining, and presented in a way that was hilarious and taking itself in the most serious way that made it even funnier. As soon as the story began with Drew bringing in his snail, Eric, to the vet because he [the snail] had erectile dysfunction- later concluding that wasn't the case and instead Eric was actually coming out as homosexual, I knew this story would be an adventure!

Good world building with a group of fun and funny characters that somehow mesh together so well- from the alien trying to help the small group of humans survive the alien invasion, to the morbidly obese Mary who can barely breathe when she walks and excretes flatulence in the way a musician would play an instrument. After all she has already died twice- and that was within the first hour of the audiobook!

Adam Brown narrated this audiobook and I thought he did a great job bringing these quirky characters to life. His voice for Mary never ceased to crack me up!

This is my first book by Simon Carr, and it definitely won't be my last!

Fantastic!

Simon Carr’s released another hilarious romp through time and space with this work. It felt like a collaboration between Simon Pegg, Douglas Adams, Laurel and Hardy, and the movie Mystery Men. What happens when a bunch of naive people get superpower and need to save existence? You get Da’ Resistance! X-Men fans and diabetics beware

Pretty good

I had a lot of laughs with this audiobook it was great. The storyline was informative and funny. Had a lot of pop culture references. If you love aliens and a bunch of misfits , this one is for you . The narrator did a wonderful job even when he did the American accent he was spot on with the president.

A fun author to follow

You will enjoy Simon Carrs humor filled stories, each one different from the other but equally entertaining.
This was about just a handful of unlucky people rescuing our earth from apocalyptic alien invasion. To avoid suspicion, their DNA is manipulated leaving each in funny form. Despite changes which make their mission more complex, they are heroes.
A great narrator keeps the story totally entertaining.

I have all Simon Carrs books and love reading, and I am glad when they are in audiobook format. Fun to listen to as I do tasks around my house.

Lol

Truly an excellent journey of comedy. Shit just goes wrong but our group of misfits just go with it and do it Carl wheezer level of style.
