Publisher's summary

Kill-crazy mercenaries, gargantuan monstrosities, and a "sixth sense" that may be a death wish in disguise. Augie Brunthouse's first day of work is not going well.

It all started with Chuck Vestiglio's exile and subsequent suicide on his private island, derisively dubbed "Supersize Island" by the press. Now the disgraced hamburger baron's unhinged son has vowed to silence the family's critics with a psychotic plot to grow beef better. Alas, his wildly illegal biotech experiments have gone wrong in a very BIG way. Somebody needs to look into it.

Enter Augie. He hasn't cared about anything since his erratic precognition failed to warn him about the cancer that killed his mother. So it's time for a fresh start - at Spiel Timmitel, Corp. Augie doesn't know what STC does, or why they've sent him a gazillion recruitment flyers. But they're offering a huge salary and training in the Caribbean. Unfortunately, that training will turn out to be a shipwreck on Supersize Island. Cue the giant squirrel, parrot, and possum.

Funny little action romp

This was a really nice commute listen. Some unexpected twists and turns, good laughs, nothing too heavy.

Such a fun, well written story!

I loved this book! It was so well crafted, it kept me riveted all the way through! There were quite a few laugh out loud moments and the narration really brought the characters to life! I highly recommend the audio book, but I think I want to experience it again on paper. I hope JJ Walsh publishes a sequel because I would love to know what happens next!

GM-Oh my god!

What a trip this was! Fast paced, funny, and a little heartfelt. Going just by the premise, I’m glad I got to experience this with no other knowledge, and I’d advise others to do the same, The surprises on this island are utterly bonkers. The performance was also well done, a couple of the accents fell short, but not enough to take me out of the story. Really looking forward to the further adventures of Augie!

Loved it!

This was a fun (and tense at time times!) adventure to listen to. I loved the storyline and the authors sense of humor, plus Luke Daniels is an amazing reader! Very different from Walsh’s first novel, but just as enjoyable!

Quirky characters galore

A lot of really colorful characters in this book. And despite the monster movie vibe, it takes the time to hit some emotional chords.

Lots of fun, the "twists" aren't twisty

The characters are a lot of fun, the plot was barbones, but interesting. My only complaint is there are several plot twists that you can see from a mile off. This isn't a mystery novel though, do I'm not too offended.

Ridiculous

You really have to love the most absurd of storytelling. Don’t go near this if you’re boring.

Not good. Not funny. Not worth a credit.

This was not a good book at all. The only good thing about it was Luke Daniel's. He is a fantastic narrator. The characters in this book are not likeable, they are not interesting, or entertaining. The story is rather boring mostly because I could careless whether the characters live or die. The book is not humorous or engaging. oh, and of course the author had to throw in the gay romance because nowadays you can't have books, TV, or movies without including that. a truly wasted credit.
