Great gift for Dad-To-Be

He was genuinely surprised and excited with the book once he realized what it's contents were. I think it was a perfect gift for a new dad or expecting dad and can't wait to hear his thoughts once he's had the opportunity to read it!

Awfully bad jokes delivered expertly

If you are in the market for an awfully bad joke book. Here it is. If you are looking for an awfully good joke book, this is not for you. I was astonished at just how bad a joke book could be, and how excellently the narrator handled the atrocious content. I might have cracked a smile every ten minutes or so. More from the cleverness of the delivery than from the joke.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Meaningful quotes

Not just for dads! Awesome quotes of wisdom, teamwork, motivation & practicality found in this book. Also, you don't have to be a sports lover to enjoy this book. The quotes are NOT cheesy sport slogans. Highly recommend.

nice

Bought as a gift for my husband for his first proper Christmas as a father. Since he's always coming out with groaners that he's read online, I've no doubt this will increase his repotoir and be well used on Christmas Day! (He can have a dad joke battle with his own father who is the proud owner of a Tim Vine one liner book)

Dad jokes that (not) only a dad could love!

First of all, let's get the legal stuff out of the way: "This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review."

The author of this book has got to be one of the smartest men alive. After all, there is nothing more foolproof than aspiring to write a book of bad jokes! Think about it: if you write a really good bad joke book, people will love the jokes and laugh and be entertained. If you write a really bad bad joke book, people will hate the jokes and groan and still be entertained. Either way, you have entertained, which is more than a lot of authors can say!

This book was full of jokes. I really enjoyed how the intro to each chapter was kind of like a "Tonight Show"-style monologue, with plenty of jokes itself. Then the actual jokes themselves were numbered. Just like with any joke book, some were very funny, some didn't strike me as all that funny, and many, maybe most, made me smile and endeavor to remember them so I could tell them to someone else later on. My favorite joke in the whole book goes as follows (with many apologies to my mother-in-law, who is amazing, and not an example of the type of stereotypical mother-in-law that inspire jokes like this):

A man and his son are walking past the entrance to a dark alley when they see the man's mother-in-law being assaulted and beaten up by six men. The man moves as if to walk away. "Dad," said his son, "aren't you going to help?" "No," the man replies, "I think six should be enough."

I listened to the audiobook version of this book, and I found the narrator to be very adept at telling these jokes in such a way that it heightened the humor. There were several times that I found myself laughing out loud, and part of the reason was the voice he used or the perfect emphasis on the word or syllable that just made the joke better.
