Publisher's summary
How dangerous is it being a Park Ranger? In peaceful parks where sunshine reigns, not very. However, there are places where unknown things roam loose, and hunters become prey. These stories come from such places. Once you step inside this dark world there’s no going back.
These eleven stories from Nosleep delve into the darker side of being a park ranger. Where Cryptids are more than just legend. They stalk the land at will. Would you have the courage to pursue them?
Prepare to have your mind ensnared with the possibility of what’s real and what isn’t. You may even ask, ‘Are these stories true?’
That’s for you to decide.

Story
The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

Story
Narrator Dan Stevens ( Downton Abbey) presents an uncanny performance of Mary Shelley's timeless gothic novel, an epic battle between man and monster at its greatest literary pitch. In trying to create life, the young student Victor Frankenstein unleashes forces beyond his control, setting into motion a long and tragic chain of events that brings Victor to the very brink of madness. How he tries to destroy his creation, as it destroys everything Victor loves, is a powerful story of love, friendship, scientific hubris, and horror.

When studying mysterious creatures called cryptids, the line between fact and fable sometimes blurs. Believable finds - like the Piltdown Man and the Cardiff Giant - may turn out to be clever hoaxes. And impossible fictions - like a 44-foot squid and a living "missing link", the coelacanth - may be found swimming today's oceans.

Encounters with mysterious creatures in the woods have occurred for centuries. Many of these frightening encounters tell of elusive monsters which haunt the deep forests, terrifying hikers, campers, hunters, and anyone who ventures on a trail. Encounters in the Woods: Volumes 1-4 details some of the encounters with creatures such as Bigfoot and Sasquatch. These stories were given to the author via e-mail over the past few years and are his favorite.

Story
Crease is known in Weaver as ‘the bug guy’, the man who takes care of insects and other critters. But what emerges from the shadows of the town’s waste plant is beyond anything found in nature. Fist-sized cockroaches. Bird-sized wasps. Spiders, millipedes, ticks, all swollen to enormous bulk with vicious appetites to match. And other things, creatures that should never exist. Through the night, they come, slithering, buzzing, scuttling, crawling over skin, burrowing into flesh, making the town their nest.

Story
In this work on a subject too often dismissed as paranormal or disreputable, Jeffrey Meldrum gives us the first book on Sasquatch to be written by a scientist with impeccable academic credentials. He gives an objective look at the facts in a field mined with hoaxes and sensationalism. Meldrum reports on the work of a team of experts from a wide variety of fields who were assembled to examine the evidence for a large, yet undiscovered, North American primate. He reviews the long history of this mystery and explains all the scientific pros and cons in a clear and accessible style.

Story
It was supposed to be a simple bank robbery. Quick. Clean. Efficient. It was none of those. With police searching for them across the state, a band of criminals hide out in a desolate cabin on the frozen shore of Lake Shadow. Isolated, shrouded in thick forest, and haunted by a mysterious history, they thought it was the perfect place to hide. Tensions mount as they hear strange noises outside. Slain animals are found in the snow. Before long, they realize something is watching them. Something hungry, violent, and not of this world.

Creepy Stories
I enjoyed the stories. Only problem is there isn't any pause or delineation between stories.

STOP WITH THE AI NARRATION
I didn’t notice the virtual narrator for a free titles I picked up recently. If I had, I would have passed on them. Never again.
AI voices are good enough for short articles or as an aid for people with vision or reading problems, but an actual narrator is always the correct choice of there is an option.
As for the book itself, if you just take it as a collection of wilderness themed Creepy Pastas, it’s quite entertaining.

Creepy
A good collection of creepy stories, but the AI narration made it difficult to differentiate when one ended and another began.

No mark between chapters
There's no chapter sections, headings, etc, unsure if there's chapter titles or not -- the AI narration doesn't pause at all to indicate a story break.
the stories themselves were all right, not my particular cup of tea but something I'd support as an upcoming author... if not for the AI narration. I know production is expensive, but this ain't the solution, evidently.

Good story horrid narration
Virtual voice shouldn't be a thing. No inflection, no emotion, mispronunciation. No chapter breaks, no pause for tension, sadness, etc. just a never ending progression of words.

Narrator
I repeated that the story seemed good and I like them However , I could not deal with the narrator Else for fun.I know they probably save a lot of money Somewhere but I can't stand no emotion and just plain talking from this thing. 5 days, these stories would be immensely better with a real voice. Ralph survived no audio books should have AI.Narrator
