About this listen

Dear Santa, I want a Daddy who will take care of me....

Sanders doesn't believe he'll actually find a Daddy through a dating app. He's not much to look at, and his life is a mess. A Daddy would never be interested in someone like him. But he's lonely.

He hasn't been kissed for three long years.

Briggs moved to the small tourist town of Red Canyon, Utah, to get away from his fast-paced life in Chicago. But he also moved away from most of his dating prospects. Downloading a dating app seems like an obvious choice. The boy he messages is sweet, nervous, and drinks up every word of praise Briggs gives him. But he's too nervous to meet face to face, claiming that Briggs won't like him as much in person.

How can Briggs convince his boy that he's everything a Daddy could ask for?

Contains mature themes.

Fabulous

I became a fan of this narrator in previous installments of this author’s books. When you read the story it’s awesome add a voice and it’s a new level of wow.

What in the world??

Dear Daddy, Please Praise Me is probably one of my all-time favorite books and to say I was excited to see it on Audible is an understatement. The narration of this book is TERRIBLE!!! It sounds like the narrator skipped the part where he’s supposed to read the book a few times before he begins the narration because his voice sounds like he’s pointing to each word as he reads it! There are no voice differentiations between characters and inflections are all in the wrong places. There is NOTHING enjoyable about this audio book. I’ll be sure to skip Tristan James from now on. I’m still debating on returning this and getting another book by these authors, that way I can still support them.

Enjoyed it

This was one of my favorite from this holiday series. Love both authors so much and good narration.

Not a fan of the Narration

The storie was cute but there were several times I had to stop.istening because the narrator was almost robotic. It ruined much of the story for me.

Love the story, hate the narration.

The narrator used the same voice for all the characters and it got monotonous quickly. But the story itself was both hot and sweet. It kept me listening to the end to hear the conclusion.

This Voice Actor Though...

Dear voice actors: Please only read for books you like! I have a hard time not finishing a book once I start it. Even if it's not great and it's a struggle. I love everything in the books description and couldn't wait to read it. Unfortunately, I chose to listen to it. I honestly have no idea if the story is good or not because the voice actor completely butchered it. I made to chapter 11, and that was hard. It almost felt like this guy is straight and doesn't like gay men. Like he was sarcastic on purpose while reading it. Just read the story on Kindle and skip the audio on this one. Not everyone can be Kenneth Obi or Micheal Dean, but damn!

ᗯOᑎᗪᗴᖇᖴᑌᒪ ՏTOᖇY, ᘜOOᗪ ᑭᖇOᗪᑌᑕTIOᑎ, 𝘏𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘥 ᑎᗩᖇᖇᗩTᎥOᑎ

Absolutely one of my favorite books & I was so very excited when I discovered the audio had been released!! Not sure how I missed it … until I started listening 😶 The narrator sounds very like an automaton, completely devoid of emotion throughout a very emotional story!! The inflections were all wrong and it just wasn’t enjoyable at all. The 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 reason I finished and didn’t return 𝘋𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘋𝘢𝘥𝘥𝘺, 𝘗𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘗𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘔𝘦, is because I adore these two authors and will always support A. Bellows. I have listened to many good books from Tantor; however, I will likely be avoiding Tristan James from this point.

Meh

I had high hopes for this story. I found it to be light fluff. However, the narrator made listening to this book just a hair’s breath from painful. All the characters sound almost the same and there was no real feeling in his reading and interpretation of the characters or the story. Hopefully practice will make perfect. I won’t be listening to this narrator again anytime soon.

I can’t with this narrator

The story is fine, very cheeky and innocent. But I can’t take anything Tristan James says seriously. He ruined it for me.

Decent Story, Terrible Narrator

Story was pretty cute, really liked both characters and feel they had good chemistry. However, I have no idea how this narrator still finds jobs. I checked out his other projects and he has more than 200 books on Audible. Every one of the reviews I read say that the narration is horrible. I understand having an off day or not finding enough connection to the story to do it justice but to have dozens (probably hundreds - I didn't count) of listeners say the same thing over and over...I don't get it. Over the 1,000 or so books I've listened to over the last couple of years, I can count on one hand the number of books that I DNF solely based on the narrator. Only 2 spring to mind in fact, and this is one of them.

I would highly recommend skipping the narration on this one and going straight to the ebook.
