About this listen
Feel overwhelmed by your thoughts? Struggling with anxiety about your daily tasks? Or do you want to stop worrying about life? The truth is we all experience the occasional negative thought. But if you always feel overwhelmed, then you need to closely examine how these thoughts are negatively impacting your lifestyle.
The solution is to practice specific mindfulness techniques that create more "space" in your mind to enjoy inner peace and happiness. With these habits, you'll have the clarity to prioritize what's most important in your life, what no longer serves your goals, and how you want to live on a daily basis. And that's what you'll learn in declutter your mind.
The goal of this book is simple: We will teach you the habits, actions, and mindsets to clean up the mental clutter that's holding you back from living a meaningful life.
You will learn:
- Four causes of mental clutter
- How to reframe all your negative thoughts
- Four strategies to improve (or eliminate) bad relationships
- The importance of decluttering the distractions that cause anxiety
- A simple strategy to discover what's important to you
- 400 words that help identify your values
- The benefit of meditation and focused deep breathing (and how to do both)
- How to create goals that connect to your passions
Declutter Your Mind is full of exercises that will have an immediate, positive impact on your mindset. Instead of just telling you to do something, we provide practical, science-backed actions that can create real and lasting change if practiced regularly.

In this brilliant book, she describes how success in school, work, sports, the arts, and almost every area of human endeavor can be dramatically influenced by how we think about our talents and abilities. In this edition, Dweck offers new insights into her now famous and broadly embraced concept. She introduces a phenomenon she calls false growth mindset and guides people toward adopting a deeper, truer growth mindset.

Taking inspiration from the university's slogan, "What starts here changes the world," he shared the ten principles he learned during Navy Seal training that helped him overcome challenges not only in his training and long Naval career, but also throughout his life; and he explained how anyone can use these basic lessons to change themselves - and the world - for the better.

For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

One afternoon - after another failed attempt to get motivated to exercise - I (accidentally) started my first mini habit. I initially committed to do one push-up, and it turned into a full workout. I was shocked. This "stupid idea" wasn't supposed to work. I was shocked again when my success with this strategy continued for months (and to this day). I had to consider that maybe I wasn't the problem in those 10 years of mediocre results. Maybe it was my prior strategies that were ineffective, despite being oft-repeated as "the way to change" in countless books.

It's pernicious...it's diabolical...it creeps into every moment of our lives. It influences our relationships, impacts our physical body, works its way into our conversations, sparks non-nourishing behaviors, and forces us to do things we'd never want to do. It's infectious; it's relentless.... It's stress! We all know it. We all experience it. It's the human condition - but through this audiobook, you will learn to transcend it.

There is a lie you've told yourself since you were old enough to tell yourself lies. The lie is I'll be happy if I can just get what I want. The truth is far more complex and beautiful and powerful than that. The reality is that when we get what we want, our inner reward system turns off unless its tied to another future goal afterwards. On top of this, modern society bombards us with false narratives that confuse us about what we actually want and what we actually need. This leaves countless people lost and without direction.

It's no wonder that introversion is making headlines - half of all Americans are introverts. But if that describes you, are you making the most of your inner strength? In this book, psychologist and introvert Laurie Helgoe, PhD, unveils the genius of introversion. Introverts gain energy and power through reflection and solitude. Our culture, however, is geared toward the extrovert. The pressure to get out there and get happier can lead people to think that an inward orientation is a problem instead of an opportunity.

Inspired me to take immediate action
Any additional comments?
I listened to this book on a recent road trip. I have listened to multiple books by S.J. Scott, so I already knew to expect a pragmatic approach to decluttering my mind. While I have heard some of the ideas in other books, repetition can be helpful. I actually plan to listen to this book again. Most significantly, the book inspired me to begin decluttering my surroundings as soon as I returned home. I immediately organized my vehicles and then began on my house; donating nearly a dozen large contractor bags of personal items. I would definitely recommend this book and taking action on its ideas. It is written "a la carte" style, and provides what the authors call "show notes", which is essentially a web page that lists important links, etc. that you may want to reference after listening. I was given a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for a review. This review is my unbiased opinion.

Good content
The book was good. It reminded me of things that I already knew which I obviously needed or else I wouldn't have sought out a book like this. I'm not into meditation or willing to entertain it at this point in my life but I appreciated how they explained how to do it.

Inadvertently bought this book and I’m so glad I did!
This is a terrific book! I’m so glad I got it! It is rife with lessons and steps to take to really implement changes in oneself! A very solution oriented book which makes it an excellent book to read and refer to often!

Succinct and actionable
Would you consider the audio edition of Declutter Your Mind to be better than the print version?
The audio version is really digestible and works well for the first read through. Working through some of the exercises, Steve actually can send you a free pdf and additional resources, so you end up getting both, which is really nice.
You'd probably want some print edition version once you do some of the activities, but overall the audio is super convenient.

Solid and practical advise
Well organized, solid and practical advise one can quickly implement. I really like the numbered ideas and the suggestions of how one can implement a little bit at a time so not to be overwhelmed and never begin. Great examples and references and suggested additional reading. A must reading for everyone!
