About this listen

Ace and Vincent return to earth after training under Grom.

They bring with them training techniques and new allies. Earth begins to undergo a transformation that changes everything.

Ace and Vincent have learned that they aren't alone in the universe. In its current state, humanity is weak. They might be enslaved, or worse. How will humanity survive after entering the stage of the universe? Who will lead them? Will they survive?

I definitely like the book but it was just way too short for the cost.

Good story just way too short

Man I was juiced to find out this was finally out. Don't know why I didn't get a notice that it would be released when it was but it felt like a early birthday present for myself.

Eff to the Yeah!

Biggest improvement: The narrator, he finally seems to have gotten his stride. I remember both previous books it took me a while to get used to him because he had a strange stilted way of reading I think (I didn't go back to remember what exactly it was but it cause me to take a long time before I gave this book a chance). He has really shown improvement in this book though. (Edit: Seems like other people are complaining about jerky speech, I honestly didn't hear it like I did in the other books. He does some strange word emphasis and reads like he's telling a bedtime story but I was more amused than bothered by that. Keeping the 5 star performance rating due to I can see the improvement.)

Short: It seems like 2 netflix series episodes (though it is longer than two hours but I feel like if you were to transform any tv episode into book format it would be much longer than the televised episode). Story content wise. It almost seemed like an in between book such as this book is the intermission between the last one and the next one (which I'm wondering if it will actually come out).

Listening to the previous stories you should get a general idea of what to expect from this one, but I do think the characters have improved. There was quite a bit that irritated me about pretty much every character previously but now they felt more like they were balanced rather than off the rails in one way or another for what felt more like to create drama/story.

Short but the best so far in my opinion

The last hour to hour and a half was essentially tell dont show. You time jump 50 years in the future where humanity has space ships. humanity is invaded by a giant space squid. They defeat the monster but said monster escapes. in the last 15 minutes of book the monster returns a few years later many times stronger they fight again and give monster final death...

great until the last two hours

as always this is a great serial if I were to compare to anything it would be those old-time westran from the 30s 40s and 50s that a great grandparents and grandparents would go to see his kids the problem here is the narrator he tries to do the job but he fails otherwise this is a great story he offered us great just needs to have more than one narrator for this

the truth is in the narrator

I can't tell if it's the way the story is written or read but the whole story felt very jerky. Robotic..

Jerky speech patterns.

I loved this series and the concept the author created, but I could tell after the first on that the author was giving up on the series. He also stated this is the last book after building up so much and not even giving it a proper ending. Now he is doing the same thing with another book, I'm going to avoid his books in the future now.

Given up on
