About this listen

Pediatric resident Dr. Dani Russell is focused on her career, and there's no room for anything else since her last relationship crashed and burned. She's seen as standoffish and cold to everyone except her patients and her best friend, Rick. That's just fine with her.

Detective Rebecca Wells, newly appointed to Atlanta's Juvenile Missing Person Unit, is a woman in a state of flux and on a mission to fix her unsatisfying personal life. That means reaching out to her ex, Dani, to make amends. But after sizing up the once warm, friendly woman she loved, Rebecca can't believe how unrecognizable she now is or how hurt she is.

Is it too late for them? Has too much time passed to make things right?

Contains mature themes.

Cat and mouse

The development on the main characters relationship was unduly lengthy. It was an okay story but A.C. as the narrator was the saving grace. I do not really recommend this specific book.

Hard one to be patient about

Too much build up
Never really understood the drama that caused the issues
Struggled to finish it
Enjoyed the medical and police stories better than the love story

DRAWING THE LINE:

This is not a sequel to the last but both or more stand alone novels. Just both have Doctors and Cops both very good and interesting and I am on my way to read and listen to the third.

good story

Good story with great performance. Just one nit for Abby which is like a first. Abby is the best, but in the future it is pronounced "peeds" as in short for pediatrics. Not "peds" as in pedestrian. Every time it was mispronounced I died a little inside.

Favorite Author and Performer.

Dani Russel, MD and pediatric resident, had her heart frozen when her girlfriend moves out and disappears without a goodbye. She is cold to everyone except her best friend and roommate, Rick.
Detective Rebecca Wells returns to Atlanta after her aunt dies and leaves her a house. She really wants another chance with the woman she left but that’s not what Dani will ever let happen.
Ignoring the electric sparks every time they meet becomes harder and Rick is caught between two best friends.
Erotic romance and marvelous performance.
Recommend.

How much farther can we see when we rise above fear!

That’s the balancing act- overcoming fear AND exercising good judgment in a new or rekindled relationship. Relationships typically don’t begin or end with just one person involved. For better or for worse, it’s a joint effort! I enjoyed watching these characters grow, see things from a different perspective and own up to their part. I like that our sapphic romance had some nice spice too. The narration was very good, with accents and realistic male voices- that’s an Abby specialty! The end is a unique HEA that I loved! You’ll have to read it to find out more!

Good series

I liked this series. I'd recommend it. The only thing I wish was a little more present was more details into the couples lives together. The stories are about them getting together, but that's it. No real follow up after that.
