About this listen

Unlikely allies uniting across the world. Blood feuds that span centuries. A single chance at life.

The world watches the sky with trepidation. The insanity of Xenocide knew no bounds, and all will soon suffer the effects he had planned for a millennium. Though none know what is to come, they all know it isn’t going to be easy to survive.

The Master has a plan, one that can give the world at large a way to escape the onrushing desolation. It may be on the bleeding edge of morality and what he needs might prove too difficult to secure, but The Master asks for trust.

Cal and Dale both have their role to play as the world hurtles toward destruction. One needs to bring the races of the world together while the other simply needs to survive. Surrounded by supposed allies, the duo will do all that they can to succeed—but with every new arrival comes rising tensions and faltering trust.

The apocalypse is coming. Will honor or greed stand the test of time?

Great story, flawed narration

The story of all the books are amazing, but in every one of them there were moments where I could not hear the narrator either because the sound was muffled too much or because the "ambient noise" of battle, or whatever was playing at the moment, was so loud that it drowned their voices. I get it that they want you to feel immersed in the story but FFS how can I be immersed in something if I can't understand what is being said??

Better than Luke Daniels version

For those who have encountered the completely perplexing issue of the last dang book in this otherwise great series being voiced by Luke Daniels instead of Vikas Adam, and like me ended up returning said last book because the disjointed narration was too much to deal with, and still enjoy the book; then this full cast adaptation, while not a Soundbooth Theater quality production, it was none the less a sufficiently better quality production for me to at least finally finish this book series.

It could have been better I think if not for the abridging done via narrator, which is why it's 7 hours instead of 10, which leads to a bit of disjointed story flow at first, but after the first half hour or so I got used to the difference and was able to enjoy the story and finally finish this epic saga without being distracted by the narration.

Note: it helped that it had been over a year since I listened to book 4, so if you are purchasing this to finish the series, I would recommend that you wait at least a month or two, so you don't have the Vikas Adam character voices' fresh in your mind.
