About this listen

When Martin's raiding guild join the latest virtual reality MMO, they discover a challenge like no other. Strata Online is a 100-floor mega-dungeon, filled with an ever-shifting ecosystem of monsters.

Martin's team soon find themselves in a race against the world’s strongest guilds, all competing to be the first to reach the unbeatable game's lowest depths. With eternal fame and prizes on the line, Martin risks playing as a rarely chosen race: a Murovan rat-man, combined with the unusual exorcist class.

But unlike other games, he will need as much courage as skill to progress. Because the deeper he goes, the darker Strata gets.

Not your typical full-immersion game, Strata has some darker aspects that raise a lot of questions and pulled me in.

I liked the MC, but Lindsey, the guild leader was grating. I may be wrong, but I sense some darker reveals about her in the future. MC does a great job at fighting against the unfairness that abounds in game and out.

Already bought book 2.

This one really grabbed me

Fantastic story

So you have a semi professional gamer of an mc in a guild of supposed idiots who want to rush through a game as fast as possible without looking at what is around them to uncover the necessarystepstogetwhere they need to be. Thus *forcing* the mc to rush when he'd rather explore a bit.. in fact I'd say that the pacing is entirely forced.. Then you some random stalker game moderator/admin with a hate on for the Mc and his guild. Which makes absolutely no sense what so ever... You mean with all the hard core gamer guilds and professional gamers playing the admin team around floor level 50 of 100 is intimidated by a team of four with less than a week of play time. Just because they beat one other game 100% on extreme difficulty. No... just no....

Annoyingly idiotic cast

Story works for me. The genre of tower dungeon is cliche but the characters are almost well done. The main character is filled in but the others seem to have a ghost like purpose. The continuous mentions of guild requests never being addressed is a bother as this useless part of the story seems to be mentioned as fluff. Should have not made it a thing. Combat description is marvelous. Interaction with guild mates works. Love the cryptic riddle of strata being the end of everything. Great mystery!

Reverse tower dungeon

MC is kind of an idiot sometimes. some sweeping statements that just don't make sense, but overall this was a great story. I'll get the next one for sure.
