About this listen

After the Battle for the Phoenix Kingdom, Luke and his friends have been given a quest by the princess herself. Heading out into the wild, the party quickly finds themselves in the thralls of adventure when they are ambushed by a group of bandits. While distracted by a bandit infestation, the Crimson Shadow Guild, led by Shadow Incarnate, is quickly gaining power.

The party has to make it to the Elk Kingdom and bring King Henry home. While in the Elk Kingdom, Luke and company receive training in their new classes and gain new skills. It all boils down to one simple question: Will it be enough?

Will Luke and his party gain the skills they need to combat the growing darkness? Can he and his party muster the strength and courage needed to protect Endless Fantasy Online? Will darkness take over the land?

Excellent sequel to Phoenix Kingdom

Elk Kingdom is an excellent sequel to Book 1 Phoenix Kingdom. Solid growth for both the characters as individuals and their player stats. Solid LitRPG without getting too crunchy on the stats.

Another good installment

I love this series. I cannot help but feel for Penny and laugh out loud at Backstab. The narrator does good telling the story and doesn't put me to sleep. I can't wait for the Lion Kingdom 😊👍

No improvement

I must say that I’m disappointed in the second book of this series. I believe the writer had a great chance to introduce the other characters in the book, who are from the real world and not online NPC’s, but he fails the listener. It is rather humorous. I believe the listener probably learns more about the NPC characters than they do about the other characters from the supposed real world. All in all, the writer fails the listener with this story. Consequently, I cannot suggest people listen to this book. I do hope the next book will change my opinion regarding this series. 🙁😞😢

I had to stop a couple of hours in.

I'm not quite sure I can put my finger on what the biggest issue was. The book has both really cringey dialogue, and the narrator has some really poor voices for some of the characters.

I'm unsure if the latter exacerbated the former, or if both are equally true, but regardless, it combined for a pretty unbearable experience.

I had countless nitpicks that were on the wrong side of passable that didn't help issues either.

I think I had forgotten the childish shouting of really cringey catchphrases during combat from the first book, but they certainly make a comeback...

yeah, not for me. Returned.
