About this listen

The Light Pantheon rules from above. The Dark Pantheon rules from below. Together, they defeated the other divine races and became the masters of Etinhym.

Eadric is the son of the Grave Queen, but he was raised in the Crown Realm as part of the alliance between the two pantheons. After reaching the age of 18, he’s finally able to choose the path that will allow him to acquire demigod abilities and explore the many realms of Etinhym. Although his goal is to become a Grave Lord, serving under his mother, he finds himself following the trail of a conspiracy that threatens the divine pact that has kept the jotuns, the valkyries, the greater demons, and the dragons from uniting against the gods.

Eadric’s story will take him through strange realms, from a spatially disjointed forest that twists and turns on itself to a living ocean of blood and a skyscape full of floating castles. He’ll also have to face off against strange monsters, corrupted spirits, and even towering abominations. If he fails, then the war that follows will likely be the last war Etinhym ever sees - a war that will surely lead to the extermination of the human race.

This book contains RPG elements, harsh language, and descriptions of violence.

My first litRPG leveled up my love for books

The narrator was fantastic with no flaw or error ever breaking my suspension of disbelief. The writing and character information were sensible and easy to digest. With as much fun as I was having, I plan to listen to it again soon for anything I missed the first time. I would highly recommend this to others and hope they too can enjoy every part of it.

Excellent start to a new LitRPG series

The universe is set in a universe where ancient Greek-style gods are real and their lives are informed by a sort of RPG system :D

The book was really fun and the author clearly has a lot of capacity to write interesting systems-driven stories. His previous trilogy, 'World Tree Online' was a masterpiece. If you liked that you will also like this.

Definitely recommend a read if you are into the genre.

Percy Jackson meets World Tree Online

This was absolutely fun. This will be a case of you either understanding the Main MC or not. He is without a doubt a total jackass BUT (huge heart) he’s also not cruel and is a very noble guy. It’s absolutely understandable why he is this way given his background and no nonsense demeanor and ignorance of the outside world he finds himself in. It honestly just becomes comedic relief which I’m 1000% is E.A.Hooper’s intent. He goes from more jackass into just Savagely bad people skills..and even still you see his character grow into more compassionate hero. This story is so well done just like Hooper’s previous work. The world building the supporting characters it’s really shaping up to be a nice new story. Besides getting a little heavy-handed with the skill descriptions(more because there are SO many skill than them being descriptive) this book is otherwise a fluid and extremely enjoyable listen. Easily worth the credit.

Nice LitRPG - finds its own niche

Ugh, just came out and now I have to wait for the next one.

Seems very much like the author played a bunch of Immortals Fenyx Rising and used the feel from that as a base for a book. Not really in the humor department (though I believe I remember a few quips), but there's a lot of play with mythology and a building of mixed mythologies with some probable personal inspiration.
Narrator was good. Editing was okay (for a short book there were a couple spots with some audio splice errors). Just a bit too short of a read for when I wanted it to keep going.

Looking forward to the next release for this series now, as there's a lot left to do!
