About this listen

Eric has learned much about the ways of power since arriving in this strange world. Winning a place among the mighty Nords wasn't easy, but his heroics have earned him a seat at their table.

As spring comes to the land, Nord thoughts turn from staying warm to raiding.

They've invited Eric to come along. But not all is right in the ripe lands the Nords raid every season. Troops are based where there should be none, and their adversaries are building a navy.

Something has changed.

Eric begins to see signs that all these things may be linked to his birth world. Someone from his old home is interfering with his new one, and the Nords are in the way. An obstacle to be eliminated.

But not if Eric has anything to say about it!

He's survived monsters and battled other humans in his fight to keep himself and those he cares about alive. Can Eric save the people who have taken him in from the danger presented by his past?

Raise of the SIMP lord

Liked the book, hated the MC.

MC is a beta male simp.

and the author need to do his homework on capitalism, core concept is the respect for property rights.

so the story is bad or great. it's decent. but this book definitely gave it Avatar vibes. blue cat people avatar, not air bender avatar. it's basically skyrim avatar.

Very frustrating gets better towards the end

Well, just like the first book apparently the main character is still extremely stupid with no common sense. And one thing in particular that bugs the hell out of me. When he took the belt off of that one soldier at the bar and got his side arm that was on the belt, why is nothing ever said about it afterwards it’s like it never even happened. He doesn’t talk about it. He doesn’t use it or tell anyone about it. What was the point of writing that into the story. I have not completely finished this book, but it’s not looking like he’s going to say anything more about the gun, and that is very frustrating. If for some reason, he does talk about it I will update my review. OK so the story got better towards the end not as bad as it was the first 2/3.

let's hit all the check boxes

so I liked the premise, right until the author's anti-gun/anti American, socialist bent, got dumped in the readers face.
Corporations are bad and evil, solider are kill crazy, being able to defend yourself is troubling. Meanwhile, just go with the flow of raiding towns and looting things, with the folks that took you as a slave, because who are you to judge their way of life... And then we got the, OMG you used the system, you are a perversion, because oh, the bad guys are Christians who go to church, and don't believe in magic, even though it's on another planet, and fireballs are being thrown around, and giant spiders can talk

Wish i had never started this series

Can’t even finish the book, too much political bs. I want to read/listen to a book to escape the bs not be constantly slammed with it because the author has issues with being originally creative.
I enjoyed the narration other than that, going to get a refund.

Great story but narrated poorly IMO

I am really enjoying the series but will just purchase the books on Kindle so I don't have to put up with the narration. Its like he is constantly in a state of murmuring or speaking quietly. Absolutely infuriating. You want to tell him to "SPEAK UP". The story is done so well though. Love the plots and good old fashioned greed getting into the mix which happens to be universal. The characters you love to hate and the ones you love to love are all here. I have to say the dungeon bit was just a tad underwhelming but I get the direction. I am so excited I stumbled across these stories. PLEASE get someone else to read though....or have this Joel Richards learn to speak up and stop murmuring through the narration.
