Publisher's summary

Damaged. Broken. Destroyed. I’ve heard it all. A single moment of trusting the wrong person shattered my life into pieces, and my family has never looked at me the same. It’s impossible to convince them that I’m anything more than the broken girl they rescued all those years ago.

Until I meet him.

Ramsey’s grumpy demeanor and menacing scowl scare most of the world away. But not me. Not when I’ve seen his gentle hands soothe an abused colt or comfort a terrified mare.

And when I finally get up the courage to strike out on my own, Ramsey’s there. Roommates felt like such a safe proposition until Ramsey’s lingering touches and wicked smile light a fire in me I don’t think will ever be extinguished. And he feels it, too....

But just as my new life begins to take root, an evil from my past emerges from the shadows, casting a darkness on my newfound freedom. And this time, they won’t settle for pieces of me. They want everything....

Beautiful story

We finally have Shiloh’s story and it was more than I could have ever hoped it would be. Catherine Cowles writes a beautiful small town, forced proximity, age gap romance between a broken heroine and the town’s grumpy recluse with the unfavorable reputation. I absolutely LOVED this book! All the emotions, the healing, the heartfelt moments, and the suspense, I never wanted this book to end. There is something so special about Shiloh and Ramsey. They're my favorite couple of the series. These two deserve a happily ever after and I’m so glad they got it together.

Fractured Sky had been one of my most anticipated reads. I’d been eager to get in Shiloh’s head since book 1. If you’re looking for a strong, resilient heroine, look no further than Shiloh Easton. This girl had experienced a heartbreaking and horrifying event as a child. Years later, she is still suffering from the trauma. My heart hurt for her as she battled with the memories, the inability to be touched, and the guilt of what her family went through. She overcame so much with so much courage and grace.

Then there's Ramsey. Be still my beating heart. Secluded far from town with his wolf dog and his rescue horses, lives my absolute dream man. I looooved Ramsey. He had been let down by so many people in his past. It caused him to not trust anyone. He is so guarded, he doesn't allow anyone on his property. Except for Shiloh. *dreamy sigh* I'm obsessed with how he understood just what she needed even before they even met. There's a softness to his gruff demeanor and a big, caring heart. The way he interacted with abused horses or the way he helped two mistreated boys, or how he helped Shiloh when she needed a place to escape…he made it easy to root for him.

As for the narration, I really enjoyed it. Joe Arden as Ramsey just fits. He drew the right amount of emotion and passion. As for Erin Mallon, I’m, personally, not the biggest fan of her more serious audios (she completely rocks a rom com though) so it took a bit to get used to her Shiloh. As the story went on, I grew more accustomed to her cadence and I really started to like it. This gorgeous story is definitely worth a credit.

Beautiful Ending to the Series

I have been desperately wanting Shiloh’s book since we met her in Tattered Stars. She was such a special character and she needed her special Hero. And that guy is Ramsey. These two characters were so special and both deserved to find their person.

They both felt like outsiders due to their own unique circumstances. Seeing them discover the love that they each needed was truly a beautiful experience. I absolutely loved the strength that Shiloh showed in this book. I was so engrossed in this book that I truly didn’t want to stop listening and I definitely didn’t want it to end.

While I’m sad that this is the last book of the Tattered & Torn series, this was the perfect ending. Each book was perfect in its own right but this book was magnificent and so very special. I teared up towards the end because I knew it was almost over. I truly feel that there aren’t adequate words for this review. Nothing I write will be good enough for this beautiful love story and for these beautiful characters.

I have to say that the narration by Erin Mallon and Joe Arden was outstanding. Their performances as Shiloh and Ramsey couldn’t have been done better. These two are always amazing with the way they become the characters they portray.

Tough topics

This author gives very good information to her readers on dealing with broken people. It is important that readers learn these behaviors for their own family relationships.

Emotional story

I was really looking forward to Shiloh’s book and this didn’t disappoint. Shiloh has lived a very sheltered life after she was kidnapped as a child. She understands her family’s need to make sure she is safe, but she is being suffocated. Ramsey has a distrust of new people based on his past experiences. When Ramsey offers Shiloh a safe place to live and help train abused horses, she decides to be brave and move into his guest house. I loved seeing Shiloh and Ramsey help each other deal with their separate pasts and grow closer to each other. They really had a kinship of understanding each other when I don’t think anyone else could. This is a fantastic ending to this series. This is a standalone, but would recommend reading at least the first book in the series to have a better understanding about what Shiloh and her family went through.

I loved the narrators for this story.

Amazing story!

What an amazing ending to this series!! This audiobook wrecked me in the best way ever!! Definitely on of my top reads this year.

The Tattered & Torn series has become one of my favorites series ever and I LOVED each single book on it but Fractured Sky was just superb. With Shiloh's story everything comes full circle. Catherine Cowles saved the best for last.

I loved Ramsey on Shattered Sea, his self guarded persona made me want to know more about him and in this book you find out his heartbreaking story. There is nothing about him I don't like, he captivated me with his good heart and I love how he was able to bring Shiloh out of her shell and vice versa. They were able to heal, support, love and give hope to each other.

If you've read the previous books in the series then you know Shiloh has been to a very traumatic experience that have left her family dealing with the fall out of this. Little by little her siblings have been able to move with their lives but she feels stuck, unable to move forward until she mets Ramsey and he offers her the support she needs. Their love stars slow but is beautiful in every single step.

Now without giving too much into details the plot twist towards the end I didn't see coming and it completely shocked me and what a nerve breaking moment it was.

I was fortunate to read and listened to the arc, the narrators did a fantastic job bringing this book to live.

This was a beautiful series that is a must read, no doubt about that.

Saved the best for last!

I am in mourning that this series has ended. I discovered Catherine Cowles through reading Tattered Stars, Book 1 in this series, and have been hooked on these characters since then. Ms. Cowles did save the best for last. Having met Shiloh through Hayes and Everly's book and seeing glimpses of her in subsequent books, I knew that Shiloh's book would rip me apart because I would learn all the details Shy never shared with anyone. It didn't escape my notice that the author paired Shiloh with another character who was just as fractured. Ramsey Bishop had scars of his own that he's long since buried deep. He preferred solitude and silence. He let no one get to know him or step foot on his property except for Shiloh and the Chambers boys. They all had a kinship of sorts that stemmed from their traumatic experiences. It's like their hearts and souls communicated the things that needed to be said before they were voiced. While I cried tears of sadness for all that Ramsey, Shiloh, Elliott, and Aidan endured at the hands of evil, I also cried tears of joy that they all found each other to learn how to heal and set a new course for life and love. The healing didn't only happen for this foursome, but also for the entire Easton clan and for Everly.

I am not poetic enough or talented enough to find the right words to truly describe how phenomenal this piece of art called Fractured Sky is. Long story short, Ms. Cowles created a world of characters whose stories found a place on my favorites shelf.

Joe Arden and Erin Mallon as Ramsey and Shiloh respectively.... CHEF'S KISS! They brought these characters to life. I felt every heart ache and every joy they experienced.

I received an advance copy of this book at my request and voluntarily left this review.

Perfecting ending to this series!

When Catherine said this has been her favorite book to have written so far, she was not playing around. I have been waiting for Shiloh’s story since the beginning of this series and Catherine definitely saved the best for last. This entire series came full circle since these stories essentially began with Shiloh’s kidnapping that left a mark on her and her family, which forever changed their lives. But this breathtaking finale ended up being the most stunning happy ever after in this entire series.

This book starts out with the harrowing event of Shiloh’s kidnapping and her experience at the hands of her tormentor. Years later when things got too much for Shiloh to handle she could trust in her horse Sky, and ride off into the wind and leave her worries behind. Most often times they wound up on the outskirts of Ramsey’s ranch and watched the quiet, broody, lone horse whisperer from afar.

Ramsey had his own traumatic past from childhood, which resulted in a situation that made him isolate himself from everyone except his friend Lor. He works on his ranch day and night and rarely leaves his property and never lets anyone enter. He helps heal horses that have lived in less than ideal situations and provides a safe and healing environment to help rehabilitate them back to their former glory. Not only is Ramsey helping heal these horses, than in turn are heling him as well.

Shiloh and Ramsey are two broken and battered souls that find their way to one another and begin to heal their demons together. They are not victims but survivors. To see Shiloh come out of her protective shell and to stand up for herself and to witness Ramsey learn how to let his walls down and to begin to trust others again was the healing these two provided to get through the darkness and into the light for one other.

Joe Arden and Erin Mallon will always be one-click narrators for me, but their performance in this book was absolutely astounding and pulled at my heart strings in all the best ways. Joe’s portrayal of Ramsey left nothing to the imagination. His ability to depict Ramsey’s broody, over-protective and even kind heart at times makes you feel as if you’re right there with him. Experiencing all the situations and emotions to be had and wanting nothing more than to reach in and hug him and to tell him everything will be ok. And those voices for Aidan and Elliott, utter perfection. Erin is absolutely amazing in everything she narrates, but she blew this book completely out of the water. The way in which she brought Shiloh to the forefront of these pages and voiced those scenes of trauma gripped my heart in a vise, and had my eyes welling with tears. Erin completely immersed herself in Shiloh and it was evident with her outstanding performance and the ability to make the listener feel as if they are right there with her. It goes without saying if you need your next audiobook fix with spectacular narration then Fractured Sky is it!

There were so many emotions to be had over the course of this book, and once I got pulled in I didn’t want to let go until the end. Catherine created the perfect slow-burn, gut-wrenching romantic suspense that would break your heart, but heal you right along with the characters. Bravo to this absolutely stunning author, and I can’t wait to see what she writes next!
