About this listen

Van is proving that with power comes danger.

From the shores of a secret planet to the halls of power in Washington, Van navigates a complex web of lies, law, and politics, all so that Earth can be saved from the clutches of ruthless criminals.

But these people aren't from Earth. In fact, they're not even human, and they see Earth as a ripe fruit ready to be picked.

That doesn't work for Van and his crew, so he begins fighting back with the dirtiest tactics of all: diplomacy. Since the aliens are among us, and they want money and power, Perry and Miryam will unleash their skills to craft a plan that uses Van, Icky, and Funboy to stop the exploitation of Earth cold, for the enemies are led by a new player in the galactic order.

The Tsarina. She's cruel, she's heavily armed, and she's coming for Earth—with a ship that can match anything the Guild has. With enemies at the door, Van finds out that Masters can fail, secrets are hard to keep, and the Earth is worth saving.

At any cost.

You haven’t started this series yet……

Still loving this series. It hasn’t become boring or full of babble. This is one of the best stories I had the pleasure to read. The crew continues to bring a smile to my face with their banter.

How dare you!

How dare you cry my own tears. No one makes me cry my own tears. Hell of an ending for a hell of a character. До свида, хороший друг. Прощай, гордый воин.

If you were to tell me that after 19 books that I was to say the series just keeps getting better, I would LMAO! Perhaps I say this after each Backyard Starship book but it is true. (BEST BOOK OF THE SERIES). I can't wait for the next book to come out!

Again awesome work

Awesome job again. It’s amazing how they pulls out the emotions. The way it also relates to the companion series where it tells the tale of Marks grandfather

Witty Bird. Real emotions

if you made it this far in the series you've obviously enjoyed the humor the performance in audiobook is top notch. but as formulaic as almost all space fiction books are with the it's bad oh no it's worse oh look it's even worse. it's hard not to like the characters and root for the underdog.

Family makes the terrors of space tolerable.

Book 19 continues the excellence of this series—with gifted narration equal to the task of bringing an interstellar cast of characters to life.
