About this listen

Hank is fairly happy that his uncle was murdered. The man had been nothing but a source of endless sorrow and hardships since they first met. Nevertheless, Hank is forced to investigate the killing and comes to realize it is connected to a much larger collection of miseries than even his uncle could manage.

This episode marks a huge shift for Hank as he ventures into unknown regions of the cosmos and is confronted with the harsh truths of his reality.

Hard Luck Hank is the ongoing series that is a mixture of classic pulp genres. It has science fiction, detective noir, superhero, and comedy elements.

Always great to hear hard luck hank. There were a couple goofs the writer made in the story line from past books.

Great new direction

I don't want to leave spoilers but this much better than the prior two books. There is a definite change in the story and the universe . But despite the significant changes, I did not notice any inconsistencies, It's still Hard Luck Hank with all the most important companion characters even though things are different. My favorite Hard Luck Hank book so far.

I think this is great, and I feel like the narrator is perfect for Hank. There were some audio issues that were minor, I’m not sure if they were player issues or recording issues (mostly repetition and some seemingly long silence between chapters), but all in all I still enjoy the series.

Love the series

Finally Hank is off a space station and out of space to an actual planet. Good ending as well with a decent cliffhanger. Humor was better in this book also compared to the last few in series.

finally a change of scenery

More plot twists than a Fate made Twizzler. Still the funniest series I've ever consumed.

Bold move cotton, lets see if it pays off

Hard luck hank has always been a specific kind of story. When recommending it to my friends I always describe the story as how in a place filled with the worst criminals, it’s the lamest and most forgettable person ever that has had the most influence on galactic history and every big event revolves around hank simply because he has the worst luck. This is decidedly a different story. Hard luck hank still has hard luck, but this book moves away from the feeling of the others almost entirely. My one and only critique on this story is not however that this book is not in alignment with the others or even that it doesn’t feel realistic compared to the other books, because that simply isn’t true. All in all this story in my opinion, both as a reader and an amateur writer is that, it is still hard luck hank. The different revelations, character actions and pieces of the story made perfect sense with the previous books. My one critique is merely that the reader experience feels a little dulled by the fact that the entire universe except for hank is gone and the weight of that event doesn’t feel properly addressed somehow. Perhaps though this is because we are looking through Hank’s point of view, and hank is a character who has trouble comprehending things of far less magnitude than universal destruction. I feel that this is a new story for hank, the opening of another chapter in his long life, and I for one am very excited to see what happens!

It’s a very dramatic shift but I’m hopeful for the future

"His name was Frank" , "was your skinny mother's name Lank", "Bondage friendly sister named Spank" , "your brother the sailor named Plank" , "and the less successful sailor brother named Sank", "your former alcoholic farther named Drank"? …..LMAO "Are you Fart luck Fank?" , " I heard you died untastefully" ….LOL What more needs to be said?

Hank is back, and its great again
