Compassionate and hopeful

This audiobook offers a mix of validation and practical advice for women healing from the trauma of a dysfunctional relationship. I found it helps unpack the weight of an emotionally abusive relationship long after it’s ended, step by step. From understanding why abusive patterns happen to creating strategies for change. It teaches how to become more resilient and invite nurturing, healing, and self-love into your life. Also includes the tougher stuff like setbacks and financial recovery, so that you can face them with confidence. By the time I got to the chapter on "rewriting your narrative", I felt this is exactly what I needed to move forward.

Such good information

This book does a really good job of covering what you need to know to be able to break free! I like how it covers information to help protect your mental and emotional health because that’s a big part of all of this. It’s easy enough to say what to do but it can be hard to act upon it if others things aren’t taken into account.

Finally Break Free from Bad Relationships

This is an incredibly personal book for me, as it deals with moving on from a toxic relationship and finding healing after emotional abuse.

I know so many women that have to deal with the scars of bad break-ups and abuse. This is why I liked that the author spoke out of her own personal experience with this issue, as well as her professional background.

In this book, she gives a detailed roadmap for recovery. Her explanations about the science behind trauma bonds and the cycle of abuse was a real eye-opener for me. I felt like she was describing my own rollercoaster of abuse, and helped me make sense of why breaking free from that cycle is so challenging.

Some of the best parts of this book were where she gave practical advice on setting the right boundaries and regaining control of your life.

Seriously, if you’re looking for a book that truly speaks to your struggles and offers real solutions, this is the place to start. It’s an empowering tool to help you rebuild your life and find peace after trauma.

Honestly, this book hit different.

I can’t even describe how much this book hit home for me. I’ve been stuck in this toxic cycle for so long, feeling like I couldn’t break free. The author's words made me realize I wasn’t crazy for feeling stuck—it’s trauma bonding. The exercises forced me to face some ugly truths, but in a way that actually helped. If you’re tired of going back to someone who doesn’t care, this book gives you real steps to get out and heal. I’m still working through it, but I can already feel the weight lifting. If you need to break free, this book is a real wake-up call.

a healing process

Listening to this book is pretty much already a healing process. It talks about the trauma, helps you to look back into it, and helps you to really take it off your mind. I think the best way to really heal is by really looking into the trauma, and into the wounds. You need to be brave enough to face it, so you would know what went wrong, then you can stop blaming yourself for what's not your fault. This book really opened my heart for a lot things.
