About this listen

Discover the secret to happy relationships.

Relationships are rife with disappointment - but they are also the primary source of personal happiness. So it is no surprise that the number one question Drs. Les and Leslie Parrott hear over and over is, What's the single most important thing you can do for your relationships?

After over 25 years of researching, writing, and speaking on this subject, in Healthy Me, Healthy Us the Parrotts have whittled down their answer to the truth contained in this single sentence: If you try to build intimacy with another person before you have gotten whole on your own, all your relationships become an attempt to complete yourself.

Relationship skills, tips, and tactics? Sure. They have their place. But meaningful relationships - the kind we all long for - grow from something deeper, something stronger, something that has more to do with being than doing.

Really loved how they took complex concepts and brought them down to a practical level. I genuinely feel that I can implement some of their recommendations to create a healthier me and foster a healthier marriage. Thank you Les and Leslie for your expertise in the field and making it accessible for the general public. I could see this book becoming a gateway to therapy/counseling for those who are nervous to start or aren’t sure what they even need to work on. This book will help you look inward if you actually do the work!

The content covered is foundational and it’s application is necessary for healthy relationships. Do yourself (and everyone else in your life) a favor and apply the truths in this book.

Powerful truths!

Authors are pushing their Christian faith narrative as the root of health and wellness. load of crap and propaganda. definitely written from a western white Christian bias, essentially saying you need to root all you do in christian faith to be healthy and happy in relationships. Not a a very inclusive way of thinking.

Christian propaganda disguised as psychology

I am struggling to get through this audio book, the narration will take you back to your most mundane professor which makes it very difficult to focus and absorb the content.
