About this listen

I would do anything to protect my family. It’s my fault they’re in danger....

A year ago, someone broke into our home. He stood outside our bedroom, with our children asleep down the corridor, and knocked on the door.

But the worst moment came later, when I found out who had nearly destroyed my family, and why.

Now my husband has booked us a surprise vacation. In a beautiful cabin on the shore we will rest, talk, recover.

But I can’t relax. When I drive to the store, or stroll down the beach, I am always looking over my shoulder, my heart racing.

Because no matter how hard my husband tries to pretend, we both know it’s not over.

And I know he still doesn’t trust me....

An absolutely compelling psychological thriller that will make you question how well you know those around you - and how safe you ever are. Fans of The Girl on the Train, Behind Closed Doors, and Gillian Flynn will be completely hooked by His Loving Wife.

Ignore negative reviews!

I skipped over this one for months due to a couple poor reviews. I wish I hadn’t. I loved this book. It kept me on the edge of my seat and questioning all I knew. Don’t overlook! Just listen.

decent story

The book flowed well, the characters were easy to distinguish. However, their was no surprise, it was quite evident from the start.

Rate it a C+ had potential in the beginning

Easy listening. Liked the book until about 2/3 done, the wife was annoying, hubby was an idiot, it just turned into a cliche. Didn’t finish the last 50 min. Too redundant.

OMG… pure evil

This book glides along pretty typical of other books in its genre then suddenly you realize this isn’t just a cheating husband or a jealous best friend. This is a “ different” twist.
This plot twist really got to me and I’m pretty jaded.
Highly recommend, but stick with it for the payoff.

Worst narration ever

Wasn’t sure I was even going to be able to get through it because the narrator was that bad. The sample did not represent her voice throughout the entire book. Only got through it because I listened to it at 1.4 X speed. Story was eh but her voice is Absolutely awful.

Terrible

I feel the issues of mental illness and ptsd were not accurately addressed. There was also a huge gap in addressing the bodies reaction to fight/flight/freeze.

This aside -the story was bizarre, with a terrible ending.

I hate this book

Dramatic, I know. I have been trying to put my finger on exactly what it is. The interactions between every family member are outdated and frankly unfortunate but that has nothing to do with the plotline which I am not sure of as I cannot go one page further (chapt 21) in this experience. I considered blaming the narrator for their whining but realized it’s the content. Either way I’m out. Save yourself. apologies to the author, I doubt I could do better.
