About this listen

From Megan Collins, a twisty and “terrific” (The New York Times) novel about a heart transplant patient who becomes romantically obsessed with her donor’s husband.

She has his wife’s heart; the one she wants is his.

Rosie Lachlan wants nothing more than to find The One.

A year after she was dumped in her wedding dress, she’s working at her parents’ bridal salon, anxious for a happy ending that can’t come soon enough. The recipient of a life-saving heart transplant, Rosie knows her health is precious and precarious. She suspects her heart donor is Daphne Thorne, the wife of local celebrity author Morgan Thorne, who she begins messaging via an anonymous service called DonorConnect, ostensibly to learn more about Daphne. But Rosie has a secret: She’s convinced that now that she has his wife’s heart, she and Morgan are meant to be together.

As she and Morgan correspond, the pretense of avoiding personal details soon disappears, but as she digs deeper into Morgan’s previous marriage, she discovers disturbing rumors about the man she’s falling for. Could Morgan have had something to do with his late wife’s death? And can Rosie’s heart sustain another break—or is she next?

Such a good read! I loved the Taylor lore and current events, coupled with the mystery and twists!

The twists and turns kept me from putting down this book

This was an entertaining to a point, but the characters were frustrating in their level of decision-making and general behaviors. But it did keep me guessing, and I appreciated the mixed media.

Good twists, unhinged characters

Red herrings were great. The big twist was good too. Narrator was good. FMC sometimes made bad and foolish choices.

Loved the twist and the red herrings

I love everything about it! You never want to stop listening! I did call a main part of the book, but I was back and forth on my ending a few times, but stood my ground on the synopsis.

The twists are great, but you don’t loose focus or get super confused. Twist after twist…!

This book kept my interest most of the time throughout. One negative is the protagonist Rosie, she could be a little "silly" at times and that got annoying. Overall this is an okay read that had a twisty little end!

Wow! this one had all the twists and turns I love! just when you think you have it figured out the author just turns the whole story on its head! Loved it!

Crazy twists!

I wish it had ended differently. It felt unfinished. But overall I enjoyed the story , and I loved the different little life lessons it taught.

Twisty

I'm exhausted after listening to this. Constant drama over everything. Maybe this Gen Xer is too old for the intended audience. I found the main character to be unlikable, annoying, and unhinged. This was not my jam.

Exhausting

Maybe making all the women in the book sound hysterical was NOT the way to go.

Not great
