New twist lot of fun. Read it twice in a row.

Seeing as everyone has their dark side from time to time who dosent want to be the villan. But are they really what they seem. From the very beginning I loved the mc. As a gamer and getting slightly distracted from time to time. I could easly relate. The flow of the story was constant and kept getting better. I so need another book

10 stars! worth the whole 9+ hours!

I haven't heard a LitRPG I cared to listen to straight through in a while! PLUS the narrator is perfect for the character and did a great job narrating all the characters. The woman sound like different woman and men sound like different men. That's exactly what I need with a single person narration. I can't wait for book 2 to come out on audio, I can't read this regular way after this!

A great book and a great narrator

This book is funny and smart, a great combination and a great new spin on the classic gamer storyline. I highly recommend it to all of those that like the strange yet wonderful.

Surprisingly good read.

I loved it. Simon is on or off for me. Some of his stories are great, while others not so much.
This one is on for me. The story while generic being another "Man becomes villian and rises to power", it is well written and contains unique elements that differenciate itself from the others.

The main character is very likeable, in that he isn't an imbecile. In fact, he actually quite cunning, conniving, and ruthless while still being fairly charming.
The sub cast of characters are also really well done, almost all of them being unique and fun.

The narration was exceptional, only helped by the quality dialog written. Zach killed it with his performance in this.
I look forward to future installments of this series.

Sorta Amazing.

Overall this is Really well written, but I would compare it to a well made Alfa version of a game, the setting, the mechanics, the story are all done really well, but overall it lacks content. A lot of questions are answered with just ‘game logic’. And out of the 9+ hours of play time at least a full 1/3 is description of people and things, or some massive exposition dump. And another 1/3 is dedicated to the opening,

What should’ve taken 3-4 novels was craned into just one, so the MC is basically just jumping from boss fight, to boss fight. The build up is just glossed over and you never really get a sense for how dangerous the enemy is supposed to be, so their never really feels like their are any stakes in the table. It’s like the author realized they spent way to much time building the outside world and had to cram something together for wean we finally got in the game.

The setting is one of my favorite, it’s a fairly (if not completely) Unique take on an isekai. And using a clever cover to built directly into the story to allow the author to effectively power-boost/retcon the MC with an in book cannon justification. I don’t particularly care for it, but it fits, and works well.

the MC playing the villain is not original but it is somewhat rare. With a fun juxtaposition on the hero and villain. With the MC caring more about the innocent NPC’s he’s robing than the hero’s trying to stop him.

my main praise for this is the characters. Their well written for the most part, and the writer sticks to their characters outline in behavior (which is apparently really hard because I’ve found vary few authors who can do that). No one dose something out of place ‘because plot’ the Mc doesn’t do something blatantly stupid ‘because plot’. The MC is supposed to be a clever, intelligent, problem solver, with a serious knack for adaptation, And He Is those things! … than again, a lot of what happens in the book is glossed over or ‘yada yada’ed into the corner as unimportant.

Great story, narrator however….

Awesome story, and the narrator did a good job on all the male parts. Perhaps I’ve been spoiled with dual narration but at least TRY to change your voice for ANY of the females!!

Awesome

to be honest the fact that the MC was the villain is what carried this story since the litrpg elements are just there tp notify the mc whenever he has won something, there is no stat distribution, the mc just randomly gets stat for doing evil stuff and the sex was pretty much ftb and tue girls he gets are just npcs i was hoping for him to turn a superhero but nope only npcs
