Publisher's summary

More leveling up. More killing. More stuff.

So far, Dantem has enjoyed being the Bad Guy. He’s conquered cities, taken empires, and killed heroes.

Unfortunately, until now, his chance at revenge and world domination has escaped him.

But if he plays his cards right, and is more bad than ever before, he might just have one shot at killing all the people who have ever wronged him, taking their stuff, and then hearing the cries of their women.

Amazing

the narration is quite a bit better than the first book and of higher quality I really like this series my only problem is that every one else besides the protagonist is a idiot

The ending sucks

I was happy with the performance and most of the story, it’s kind of campy but it just works; but the ending ruined it for me entirely. We’ll leave it at that

Perfect for a newer author

Warning spoiler alerts. This is for the reader but also for the author and voice actors feedback. Indi authors need love a feed back to get better. Not the typical I love it it or it sucks.

A good balance of fights! An MC that thinks and plans, a balance of tough fight with easy wins, and a great supporting cast. Not all hail Marry’s win by the skin of you teeth which is just dumb to say in the simplest of ways. I would suggest keep developing the characters in the main party as some kind of flew off to the side. Over all I love the genius approach. A smart MC with some flaw but learns. No over the top huggy lovey everyone with some ruthless calculating with a touch of humanity. Really scratches that itch for a capable smart MC with bad ass abilities. Build on the abilities and not the drama and this series will go a long way with me waiting to get the next book.

Avoid trying to one up everything and keep letting the story flow like it is. You have a great pattern so build off of it. A bonus would be new and creative ways to beat the heros easily with in genius way. That takes more writing abilities then a last minute saving throw which is a trope that is way over done. It also makes the situations where you need the last minute saving throw special and matters and keeps you guessing.

I love of in the middle of the story the team barely won then easily beat the boss at the end with pure planning. That is development and learning. Also expect by a super smart MC.

Second I love the intermission with first person view into other characters. This is a grey zone at best. Done wrong and it makes the story dry done right and it adds depth. The perspectives actually add to the fun and made me laugh. It really add to the whole piece.

Great job by the voice actor. I know it is hard to do so many different voices. The pitch, cadence and tone felt like it really fit the situations. There was moments where the voices drew up short lacking deferences. But when it was on it was top notch. Keep working on diversity like Nick Podhel and Jef Hays. The voice you have down though I would put next to them as genuinely awesome. Your deep voice and sophisticated voice is top of the line. Good Eastern European too. Also you do a great job of caring over emotion. It never felt dead even if the accent was off. That is great potential talent. I really think you did an awesome job. Just most practice with other styles of voices. The one one you are good at though are a 10 out 10 and I wish some of my favorite books used you as the main protagonist and let the female actress take care of the other cast. They are amazing with a range that would blow a normal male voice actor out of there seat your is where it is at.

I hope this helps! And forgive the typos this review was one on an iPhone.

Not bad

Not a bad continuation. It is fun and the MC is actually a bit evil but not to much. It will be interesting to see what the MC will do in the future.

I’m trying…

This is not a great sequel. Where book 1 felt fresh book 2 feels like an also ran. The unnecessary sex chapters that take away from the main story are worse here. I have 4 more hours of listening to go but this is so far a book that I am not invested in the ending. The Tad chapter was an exercise in patience. Each “real” (non virtual) character is the same person with a different voice and name.

I don't hate it

I don't hate it but it's not a great sequel it just doesn't feel the same and it's certainly not as entertaining as the first one. I also have this little issue with the cover art this is just a pet peeve with mine but I like the first book cover art better
