About this listen

Love breaks the offside rule in New York Times bestselling author Rachel Van Dyken’s irresistibly sexy Red Card romance.

Successful, high-profile sports agent Matt Kingston thinks he can handle anything. Then soccer player Parker Speedman shows up at his door. She is young and gorgeous, has natural talent, and is looking for a team. She’s also a hothead with a punchy past who floored her last coach on live TV. Despite his misgivings, Matt agrees to be both her agent and her coach. Professional common sense says she’s off-limits. But what can he say about the raw attraction between them?

Parker plays soccer with her heart and soul. But after the events of the last year, she’s shaken. She’s already seen what a powerful man can do to a female athlete’s career. And her beloved dream is in the hands of a sexy, gorgeous man with the uncanny ability to slip past her defenses…and into her heart.

Now Matt and Parker are about to learn that when it comes to love, the only way to win is by breaking every rule they know. And by playing nice. Real nice.

Loved 'Old Man' Matt

This was such a good sports romance with some deeper issues involved. I love romance books with athletes, they are usually fun and entertaining but I really liked the fact that Rachel Van Dyken touched on some serious topics that takes place way too often. I was a huge fan of Matt’s from the first book, he was an entertaining hard ass for his clients and I was so happy he got his own book even though the focus was mainly on Parker throughout the story. Parker definitely grew on me as the story progressed, at first I was annoyed by her anger and childish behavior but after I learned about her past, her behavior made a lot more sense and was very believable. Slade and Jagger were great, although I wish Jagger would have gotten his own story instead of him and Willow being lumped in with Matt and Parker.

Laurie West and William LeRoy did a great job narrating. Laurie West nailed all the emotions for Parker which were really all over the place between scared, crying and angry.

Great Read

Kickin' It (Red Card #2) was a great read by Rachel Van Dyken. Matt Kingston is a high-profile sports agent that thinks he can handle anything. Soccer player Parker Speedman shows up at his door, she has natural talent and is looking for a team. But shes also a hothead with a punchy past that floored her last coach on live TV. Matt agrees to be both her agent and coach. The last year has left Parker shaken and has already learned what a powerful man can do to a female athlete's career. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

OMG!!

another wonderful story by Rachel. This story follows a soccer agent & coach. His sister decides to come & live with him for 3 months & invites her best friend to come also. Unfortunately, she did not tell her. Her friend needs an agent to start her soccer career, but didn't tell her brother. It's a great story of romance, stuggles & victory's. The important lesson to speak up if someone rejects your "No".

Kickin' It

It is no secret that I LOVED Risky Play, I read it then listened to that audiobook and just couldn’t recommend it enough. So the wait for Kickin’ It has been KILLING me!
I had this baby pre-ordered the moment it was available and it does not disappoint!

Matt is the agent to end all agents why because he loves what he does. The fact that he knows the sport helps too but really his love of what he does is what makes him the best man for the job. I love that he is a softy for his sister Willow he might seem the tough guy but he just wants her to be happy.
Who makes her happy well I won’t get into that because I don’t want to spoil it for ya.

Parker who is friends with Willow is in need of an agent so it was a win-win for her to come with Willow. She wouldn’t assume anything but she needed to get away from the past and move on. Willow who is brass and forward makes it happen.
The fact that everyone is wrapped around Willow’s finger and you just don’t know it yet cracked me up. I adored the play by play between all the characters. I am so happy we get old favorites. But what I loved was the friendship that bloomed between Jagger and Parker it was kinda perfect.

Matt fights what his head is telling him and what his heart is saying when it came to Parker but in the end love always prevails.

Or whoever has the whistle. ;)

The narration, my gosh I didn’t know what to expect because I haven’t heard anything from these narrators before but let me tell you it was perfect. They were Matt and Parker through and through. I couldn’t be more pleased. Highly Recommend.

Kickin' It

This was so good! Matt lets his sister come and stay and she brings her friend with her. Parker is a fabulous soccer player who lost her career when she punched her coach. Now she is trying to regroup and start over and hopefully Matt who is a top sports agent will be able to sign her to a team. The only problem is they have chemistry and she her former coach is still out there and coming after her. So good! This can be read without reading the first one but since it is a companion to the first and the secondary characters are in this one (and it was so good) I recommend reading both.

Such a great story! Absolutely one that needed to be told! I really enjoyed the female narrator! she really sounded like what I would imagine a female soccer player to sound like! And these 2 were so freaking hot! 😍

Love and overcoming struggles

This story was absolutely captivating. It was funny and cry worthy. The characters had so much depth and loved seeing them grow emotionally together to overcome the obstacles set forth for them.

So Good!

This was a great listen. The story had some depth although it is fiction. It made you laugh and cry. There may be some triggers for anyone who has suffered from sexual assault.

Good but......

I adore the writer! I love the back and forth between the characters. The problem I have is the "strong" women are ALWAYS crying!!! One minute there was great conversations and next she was crying......ALL THE TIME!!! The performance was good. I loved listening to the voices, I just wished they would have matched the 1st book better. Slade had an accent in the 1st book and Jagger is from Russia. I heard none of that in these voices. In all fairness, I could tell the difference but it was not what I expected
