Teenage girls have a harder time than previous generations....

Does she know what to expect and how to navigate the challenges with confidence?

You’ve had "the talk". Your daughter has started her period, or she knows what to expect when it arrives…but is she truly prepared for everything that being a teenager entails?

The reality is that being a teenager is a little different from how it was when you were growing up. Girls face contemporary challenges that simply weren’t around for older generations…and no matter how well you think you’ve prepared them for their teenage years, there are bound to be a few things that slip through the net.

Your daughter doesn’t just need to know about the changes in her body.

She needs to know about navigating significant issues like sexuality, gender identity, and body image…and she needs to know what to expect from the world around her while she battles the changes in her body and her soaring emotions.

She needs to do this in her own time and at her own pace–after all, a huge part of growing up is getting to know yourself and understanding the importance of independence.

But that doesn’t mean she has to go it alone…. Simply by providing her with the resources she needs in order to explore her identity and prepare her for the big wide world, you can help her step into womanhood completely in charge of her own pathway.

Providing her with this unique guide to adolescence is the perfect way to do this. Adolescence has always been a challenging time, and today’s teenagers are facing things you may not be equipped to teach them about…. But that’s okay. All you need to do is provide them with the resources they need to understand themselves and the world around them–and they’ll do the rest.

Your daughter has everything she needs to navigate her teen years with grace and confidence…. She just needs a little nudge in the right direction.

Give your little girl everything she needs to blossom into a confident young woman.

Great Resource!

My daughter is not yet a teen but when she is I am trying to prepare for that day. This book is really a great way to understand a topic that I do not fully understand. Also, what I loved about the book is it makes the point that what I may know about teen puberty is going to be different today than it was when I was a teenager. The challenges are completely different. Great resource.

Times Have Changed

This book is for parents in my opinion. Times certainly have changed since I was a teen and believing that our teenagers will have the same experience as we, as parents had, is unrealistic. They will be exploring their sexuality and likely engaged in sexual activities earlier, and as a parent, understanding all of this is crucial to being there for our teenage daughter. Although there's much more to Ladyish than just those tough topics, If you have a daughter entering her teenage years, I recommend getting this book.

More than A Resource

Your daughter doesn’t just need to know about the changes in her body. The author shares that young girls must know more that their bodies will change and grow in the future. A girl's period is something that they should know in advance to be better prepared for when their first menstruation happens one day. The book is designed to be given to a young teen because puberty begins at different times for every young girl. She must know how to journey through sexuality, gender identity, and body image. She also needs to understand what her environment or world may expect of her. She should not have to make this journey alone, and the author recommends not just giving this audiobook to a teen to explore on her own. The parent should be there to participate in a discussion and answer questions. Most single-parent virgin dads struggle with this discussion. Help your daughter or niece through this stage by purchasing this book. Every teenage girl needs to read or listen to this handbook.

What a Great Gift For Parents!

Ladyish has the information of an expert with the tone of an older sister. I imagine all the parents out there who want to help their daughter walk through this time in their life, but having all kinds of challenges. First, they may not understand the challenges their daughter is facing. This book is a great introduction for parents to know what may be going on - whether they have just forgotten what it was like to get your first period or have never gotten one themselves! Early on in the book, the author mentions how even girls who appear confident usually are struggling with comparison. It’s a basic idea that I totally overlooked. Second, kids are now getting to an age of more independence and will feel embarrassed by these topics. This book is a great tool for solving both concerns.

The book is very comforting for teens who may be struggling with confidence. For instance, when talking about different times to get a first period, the author mentions how it is different for different girls and not to feel the need to fit in with what’s normal. “It’s your body and listening to it is important.” What a great message!

I love the chapter on sleep where she shares scientific information and practical tools. It is pretty convincing to hear all the drawbacks to sleeplessness, like anxiety and depression. But, I didn’t realize the physical effects, like your hunger hormone increasing, causing weight-gain!

It’s one thing to tell a girl to have a better body image. But, how do you do it? The author shares the different trends in different generations - also explaining how difficult (or impossible) some of it is. She unpacks where these pressures are coming from in order to combat them. 40-50% of girls in the first and second grade don’t like certain parts of the way they look. This is a topic that we have to talk about!

I love how practical this book is - a must-read for parents and girls!

a useful handbook

I'd say this book is not only for teenage girls, but also very helpful for parents to read. Raising a girl through teenage is difficult. Everyone could have a different experience, but it's usually challenging in different ways. This book lay down the path to understand the changes in this age, both physical and emotional, and how to cope with the changes. It's a very useful handbook that I'll listen to it repeatedly.

perfect handbook on puberty for young girls

i used to have so many questions unanswered about girls in their puberty, listening to this books has expanded my knowledge largely on raising girls, especially those age 13 to 16. they can be sensitive, and also in a pivotal point of their lives, raising girls can be different from boys, and this book has given me great insight on this topic.
