Publisher's summary

From New York Times best-selling author Kristen Ashley comes the new book in her River Rain series, Making the Match.

Decades ago, tennis superstar Tom Pierce and “it girl” Mika Stowe met at a party.

Mika fell in love. Tom was already in love with his wife. As badly as Tom wanted Mika as a friend, Mika knew it would hurt too much to be attracted to this amazing man and never be able to have him.

They parted ways for what they thought would be forever, only to reconnect just once, when unspeakable tragedy darkens Mika’s life.

Years later, the impossible happens.

A time comes when they’re both unattached.

But now Tom has made a terrible mistake. A mistake so damaging to the ones he loves, he feels he’ll never be redeemed.

Mika has never forgotten how far and how fast she fell when she met him, but Tom’s transgression is holding her distant from reaching out.

There are matchmakers in their midst, however.

And when the plot has been unleashed to make that match, Tom and Mika are thrown into an international intrigue that pits them against a Goliath of the sports industry.

Now they face a massive battle at the same time they’re navigating friendship, attraction, love, family, grief, redemption, two very different lives lived on two opposite sides of a continent and a box full of kittens.

Making the Match

Kristen Ashley knows how to work some magic! I went into this story mostly blind and wasn’t sure the direction it was going to go. It definitely went in the right direction! I appreciate that the main couple weren’t barely legal college students, but real adults with real adult problems. This was the kind of family you wished you could be a part of. I felt all the feels and loved every bit of this!

Slow start, but still hooked me

I gobbled up the first three books, in this series, but this one started slower, for me, with a little bit of struggle. That being said, it still hooked me after the first few chapters & away I was swept! Loved the story, twists & turns, so relevant & real. There were at least two more sets of players, I was invested in & wanted to see through to fruition. The epilogue definitely left me wanting a series continuation, of at least two more books, so I will remain hopeful the River Rain series continues.

Amazing!!!

I can't say enough about Kristen Ashley's books. she is by far one of the best romance novels authors there is. I am amazed at her ability to touch everyday subjects, problems, family, etc., and she does it in a way that makes you feel every emotion that those characters feel.
The ability to make you be invested in what is going to happen in the book like if it was a true story never seems to surprise me.
The narration was well done, the drama was there but not cheesy and/or credible, believable.
I can't wait for her next book in the series as she hints at several possible couples but truly I just can't wait for another KA book even if it's not the next on this series.

Love Match!

Loved it! I think this may have just become my favorite series of Kristen's! Tho that I can say about everyone of hers I just read! love how she blends old characters from other series into the fold. I could read about all of these couples and their families forever.. KA never fails to pull you in and wrap you up with the emotional journey! definitely going to do a reread but from the beginning... Hope you pick up this series and fall in love , as I have. oh and can't forget the narrative, great listen ,both talented and filled with depth!

Making the Match

I liked this book I didn't love it.
I am glad we got Tom's story. I believe he needed to have one and I like that we get to see his side of things and the fact that he didn't make excuses he owned his actions and moved forward.

The effects of his actions are not lost on him, and he knows that they didn't just affect himself but everyone he cared about.

Mika took me more time to warm up to. I like the way she was with her daughter and with Tom and how she cut off tie with him because she knew their connection was rare and it could hurt. The way she loved her husband it was also heart breaking his tragic end. But the way she picks up after him and becomes herself raising this incredible human it was inspiring.

I liked the family comes back into this book, so we don't feel like we missed them.

It was a good book.
I really enjoyed the narration too I think they both did the book justice.
