About this listen

The Tomb acknowledged Chase's lineage and declared him Emperor to the universe. But what good is being an Emperor if you don't have an Empire?

While the Wolfhounds have conquered, or perhaps liberated, a fair number of planets, the core worlds have not yet been touched. Furthermore, the crown jewel of them all, Cor Imperii, still stands under the control of Speaker Phillip K. Neill and the rest of the members of the coup that seized control of the empire over a decade ago.

But, Neill's days are numbered, whether he fully realizes it or not, as his dictatorship is slowly dismantled, one piece at a time, and he clings to whatever hopes he has left. While the road before Chase is still long and still fraught with peril and a good many dangers. However, for Chase and the Wolfhounds, the end is finally within view—now it's only a matter of time.

The challenges may be different, but they are by no means less than the ones he's faced previously. In fact, some of them he may find to be harder, now that he is no longer 'pretending' to be the prince, having proven to all his right to reign and having finally accepted the responsibilities that have now become his.

An excellent book and a fine continuation of the series the conflict is building and you can feel the tension as players on both side make move and counter moves. can't wait for.the next one.

Really enjoyed this one, probably a little better than the last, and I’m hoping for book 6 soon!

Book 6 ASAP!!!

the speed at 1.0 is 20% slower than real time narration. this is done to make the book look longer in length making it seem a better value. hours of story vs cost of book. thats why it sounds normal to play this at 1.2 speed. great story. but how pathetic is this? also, why can't we see all the reviews? why are some reviews hidden?

dishonest

space battle, sex, spy stuff, sex, politics, sex. Don't any of these people have hobbies.
The sex and flirting got boring. It's alarge chuck of almost every chapter and it doesn't add to the story. I had to skip through them just to finish. it was too much and they're not even all that interesting or well writen. it was like the author just needed filler. the previous books weren't so bad.

to muxh sex and sex talk. it became tedious.

The story is what you would expect if you have read the previous book. so now thw wolfhounds MC is now outed as a genuine royal blood of the empire. now he needs to reclaim his galactic kingdom one planet at a time while the antagonist try to do everything in their power to hold on to it. A bit if espionage, drama and meathead mentality and you have a clique but still fun story.

What broke the magic for me was the narration. The narrator sometimes talk slow (like someone is trying to understand the words they're reading) and he barely deviates his vocal tone or sound. All the different character in the story sound almost exactly the same. I can barely tell if the character their reading is the ma. or woman. Lastly, there was no emotion in the reading that is described in the book. Can almost not tell if they're exasperated or tired or angry. The narrator was a lot better in the previous books.

Good follow up story, despite the narrator
