About this listen

The first world has been saved from the orc hordes of Boglug Gutrender, but many more await. Mark’s journey is only just beginning…

The brutal war for Kherrash provided Mark and Sunlith with powerful loot and abilities. They’ll need them all when they face off against the next trial.

Another world stands on the brink of annihilation. Creatures extinct for millions of years have been cloned in secret, ready to be unleashed in vast numbers on an unknowing population. Only Mark and his growing party of warriors stand in the way of Prehistoric Pandemonium.

Yet the dinosaurs aren’t the only threat waiting for them in this hostile land of technology and terror. Forces aligned with the malevolent plot will stop at nothing to prevent their intervention in the coming apocalypse.

Deadly gangs. Shadowy organisations. A worldwide conspiracy. Hungry tyrannosaurs.

Mark should’ve stayed in bed.

This one has Dinosaurs…Nuff said!

How do you cow a few thousand Satan worshipers? You summon a demon have it eat the cult leader in front of everyone then tell them that demons and Hell are real and that’s where they are going. Then get angry and pull out your Orc-head flail and look like you’re gonna beat them all with it. A few threats later and they’re all yours. That’s near the beginning of this book and it just gets more funny, gory, gruesome, and bloody from there.
Next, you grab your blender and add the following ingredients: Jurassic Park (any/all of them), Frankenstein, Dr. Evil (without Mini Me), several bloody and gruesome scenes of people getting smashed, trashed, smooshed and ripped, a caffein addicted barbarian, an MC who’s naming privileges have been revoked and lastly Ricky Fleet’s imagination. Blend it all on high for 10 minutes then serve with excellent narration and you have a fun, gory, blood-spattered masterpiece of an audiobook. I forgot to mention that there is a side of childhood trauma which may or may not be served with onion ninjas as garnish. I might have missed a little sleep and was slightly late to work but don’t quote me on that. This was one of the best books I’ve listened to this year.

Another great book by Ricky Fleet. You will not be disappointed. Also the dual narration really brings the story to life.

Idk what happened with the abilites and such.

I dont remember if there was any abilities or lvl ups in this one. Story was well written, But took a while. Alot of the action is on the later half of the book the first half is dialog. The romance is kinda stale.

Better than the 1st!

Wow! I loved it!
The 1st one was great and the 2nd one was greaterer.
I felt like the author was manifesting the characters onto the page, I know this is an audio book, but he wrote it out first.
The group went to a new world to save the people from a megalomaniac billionaire, creating dinosaurs and giant bugs and stuff.
They add some new people to their group. This is not harem.
Great writing and narration.
I was gifted this book with the expectation of an honest review.
I'm giving this book 8 out of 5 stars.

story is good but the MC is very irritating

First let me say that I enjoy the story and the overall concept. The MC, however, keeps making stupid decisions based on his inconsistent feelings of guilt or responsibility. He also is constantly assuming that everything will fail, they will die, the mission will fail, etc. until everything works out. Constantly. After a while, it gets very tiring.

I generally enjoy the performance but after a while it began to be a bit one note, very intense and overly dramatic. That is good for most of the story but during scenes when the main characters are having a conversation they voice actors don't need to be so intense.

2.5 Stars

I honestly don’t know if I would dislike the MC as much if I were reading this instead of listening to it on Audible. The narrator has given the MC the douchiest hero voice ever. It is a truly punchable voice.

Add to that several errors in the text that I found when listening with whispersync, and the author’s tendency to linger on unpleasant details in fights or the aftermath, and it can be a difficult listen.

This makes more sense when you read the “about the author” at the end and realize that their true passion is horror stories and not litrpg.

I had to stop and switch books a few times to get through this one.

That being said, I liked the overall story just barely enough that I MIGHT read the next one. We shall see. Gonna go listen to something else for now.
