Totally and completely impressed!

Life deemed it necessary to put Mark in my path, and I am grateful. This book is fantastic. I listened to it once and am listening to it again with an absolute commitment to working these principles into my life. There is so much power in so few words, which is something I certainly appreciate. The GIFT of strengthening your ability to inspire, motivate, and empathize more deeply with the world around you through stories of your victories and defeats is what this book is all about for me. If you want to touch people deeply and authentically, this is the book for you. I'll be memorizing it shortly; I suggest you do the same.

An outstanding breakdown of how to tell great stories

This book methodically breaks down how to tell great stories, whether on stage or writing. It truly gives you a systematic roadmap on how to tell the beginning, middle and end of a good story.

It’s usefulness in everyday life.

It helped me understand that storytelling is one of the main skills I need as a person whose goal every interaction is to uplift the other.

Worth every minute invested in listening to it.

I don't know much about storytelling, but Inow value it highly because of this book.
I am able to tell stories naturally, but I'll be better just from hearing this book, just the first time!

Good information

The narrator for a book on story telling should be engaging and Mark Carpenter did not disappoint. The chapters blended well, and provided the kind of information that you can easily remember and use. I’ll review some of the chapters and use many of the suggestions!

Other Storytelling Books Are Better

Talks more about how important storytelling is than actually teaching you storytelling fundamentals. Also, the book is boring, shouldn’t it be exciting if it’s a book about storytelling? Lol

Waste of money

I wasted waiting when this would actually give me tips on how to tell a great story instead, he just keeps on and on and on about what great stories can do how great stories can affect your life, but it never really teaches you how to tell a great story.

not worth the read

Unfortunately, this book was very disappointing. Didn't get into how to story tell which is what the title implies.

Not Nurse approved, its basic.

basic communication skills and barely scratches surface of story telling. see native American storytelling and Ancient art of storytelling. every one has a story. this book had no tools. learned this stuff in high school.
