Very helpful

This is not the best self-help book I’ve read but it’s still very helpful. It’s a quick read but I guess I prefer the longer ones bc I feel like this one had a slow start. The narrator sounded monotone and almost intimidating at times like a super villain lol.

Some of my fav tips were the journaling suggestions to write down facts instead of fears. I tend to fall into thought traps all day and it’s impossible sometimes to pull myself out of them. Mindfulness seems to be the key cure from what I have read. I kinda zoned out during the breathing exercises, those never appeal to or work for me, they make me more anxious somehow haha.

I have def always been a reactive person rather than responsive and this book highlights ways to change that. I particularly enjoyed the chapter about active listening bc I tend to always be in my own head and don’t listen to ppl when they talk, or I listen enough and then focus on what I will say once they stop talking.

Overall, I would recommend this book for anyone who is stressed and is looking to stay in the moment. You are sure to find something that works best for you 😁

Good information

all good information but I feel I would benefit more from a physical copy to refer to on a regular basis

great exercises

big majority of the exercises are great and the index is wonderful! definitely going to hear it more than once.
it can be weird in the audio book format, drive done exercises would need to be written down or memorized in order to actually do them. pausing the audio book everyone can put you out of the exercise. it would be great to have the exercises be paced to actually do the exercises alongside (at least with the ones that are not depending on external factors) with a calming background music or sounds

Works better on paperback.

As an audio book this is not effective. Purchase a paper copy so you can take notes and go back and forward.
