I love colony building along with space opera and interesting characters then throw in intense action and combat and you have a great book. The narrator was perfect for this series. I can't stop reading this series. Highly recommended.

loved every bit of it, it seemed so real, it's was just action-packed and kept me coming back more every time I put it down! it's real nice girly Roanoke room all kind of stuff is really nice they got a beautiful home. now I'm looking for the next one in the series and hope there's one after that the narrator was excellent the story was great and action-packed all the way!

Time to put your money where your mouth is basically sumurizes the beginning of this book. Book 1 (Genesis) set the stage as new colonists on a planet they call New Earth learned that not only were they no longer at the top of the food chain but something wicked this way comes. Some alien species obliterated Old Earth and is coming for them. They have had 7 years to prepare when this book begins and the politicians no longer want to believe and fund for the danger coming. As a listener you will want to throttle them and you will feel for the planet defence team trying to keep the colony alive. As you can expect their worst fears are realized and then comes the need to survive as a species. Well written ‘western’ style science fiction. Limited, if any, excursions from contemporary milieu but at least foreshadowing of a ‘big reveal’ twist down the road. Worth reading but, at this point not earth shattering or exceptionally innovative.

Another solid performance by Scott Aiello and another solid book in the First Colony Series. Ken Lozito takes you on a journey in such a way that you feel like you are part of the story. Now time for book 3!

Connor is the General of the first Colony, and trying to bolster its defenses. The Leaders rather fund other projects, not believing in the threat, so when the enemy does show up, it's a desperate battle to save the Colony. Plenty of action and an interesting world-building of the Colony and its policies and customs.

I like listening to this while driving or doing manual labor. I can mow grass or chip paint for hours while being entertained.
I enjoy the solving of the problems on the fly by the critical characters. The action keeps the storyline engaging.
