Publisher's summary

It is not a matter of if you will experience unorganized periods in your life, it is a matter of when. Lisa’s relatable story will have you laughing out loud and emotionally releasing the clutter that you have in your life and in your home.

On her way home from a long day of teaching, Lisa realized she was failing in every aspect of her life. With her 40th birthday looming in the distance, she wondered when she would feel like a success. Her days started at five am: waking to get the kids ready for school, working as a teacher all day herself, and then arriving home around five pm just in time to start the housework. Dinner, dishes, laundry, kid’s homework, her lesson plans... passing out at midnight just to do it all again tomorrow.

“You’re not a good teacher.” Those words were on a replay loop in Lisa’s mind as she drove home. Lisa added to that list: I’m not a good wife, mother, housekeeper, or friend. The list was endless. Lisa found herself at her personal rock bottom. She was not sure if, or how, she could reclaim her once organized, purposeful, and productive life, but she couldn’t go on living this way.

In her memoir, Organization Is a Learnable Skill, Lisa Woodruff, author and founder of Organize 365, shares her raw and unfiltered thoughts as she takes you along on her transformational journey as she transitioned from a reactive person who moved with the ebbs and flows of life to the proactive person she is today. Lisa walks through the mind-sets and emotional challenges that she experienced during the year that she reclaimed her home and life.

By the end of 2012, Lisa had transformed her home and started the company Organize 365 geared toward helping others reclaim their homes. Over the past decade, thousands of people have used the Organize 365 systems to learn the skill of organizing in an easy-to-follow, learnable way. She lives in West Chester, Ohio, with her family.

This is a must read for any of us in a home organization journey!

I love Lisa Woodruff and her new book, Organization is a Learnable Skill! In 2011, Lisa decided to leave her job as a teacher and get to the heart of her and her families life - their household ! She was able to use her own life to help other women get organized, be better versions of themselves and create a major business helping women.

I’m a big fan of Lisa Woodruff

I was really looking forward to hearing Lisa’s story in depth. I really appreciated her sharing some of her struggles on the path to becoming the woman of excellence she is today. Hearing the story of how she persevered and creatively addressed her challenges inspires me. I bought the book for that reason.
I appreciate hearing Lisa narrate the book.
A few parts of the book seemed more like an advertisement for her programs.

very helpful

this book was very helpful to organize my thoughts as I organize my home. I already had some ideas but they perspective and process Lisa shares his most valuable. Well she says it is directed more towards the ladies of the home, I find it very helpful as a single dad. Organization is not always natural to men who are often can a full or part-time single parenting role and need to compensate. this is not a natural process for most guys.

Title and synopsis of book are inaccurate

Once I got over the fact that the title of the book and the synopsis are not an accurate reflection of the contents of the book, I reframed my expectations of the book and did did find a couple of pieces of useful information. The title of the book and synopsis made me think that the book would contain instructional information about organization. At the end of the book the author does state that it is a memoir of her own journey to getting organized and becoming an organizer, which is what should be listed in Audible. I have learned a lot from Lisa Woodruff and do find organized 365 to have a lot of useful helpful information.

Not what I was thinking it would be

I thought that this book would be more focused on practical steps to help with organizing. It seemed to be more "autobiographical" type narrative on her life journey to find out that she was meant to be a professional organizer. There were some helpful nuggets in the book. But, not what I was needing.
