Publisher's summary

The outcome of most persuasive events is determined before you ever say a word. People may know how to sell, but most were never taught how to persuade. Persuasion expert Dave Lakhani breaks down the process into easy-to-use steps, teaching the listener not only how to persuade, but the biology and psychology behind it as well.

Persuasion is key to every aspect of sales, marketing, and negotiations. This audiobook reveals today's most effective persuasion techniques for business professionals, which can easily be applied to their personal lives as well.

Though the techniques are similar, Lakhani draws a hard line between persuasion and manipulation, with the primary distinction being intent. True persuasion is based in truth, honesty and inquisitiveness, and the ability to tell a powerful story and to meet the expectations of those one is trying to persuade. Good persuasion is a practiced art - so Lakhani gives the listener:

  • A map for the persuasive process
  • Persuasion tools and instructions for use
  • 17 persuasion tactics to instantly persuade
  • The Persuasion Equation
  • The Six Tenets of Persuasion
  • Steps to becoming an expert in just 30 days
  • Quick Persuaders: tools to use every day

Citing the opinions of noted neuroscientists, psychologists, and influence professionals, and featuring examples of persuasion at work in sales, copywriting, advertising, negotiations, and personal interactions, this audiobook supports its theories and shows how to get a message through the electronic clutter facing decision-makers today.

The listener will learn to layer on tactic after tactic to methodically and effectively break down natural resistance, increase the emotions of acceptance and desire, and move the prospect to the right outcome: the outcome the listener desires.

    Worth the time and money.

On my first listen I found many gems I can put to use in my business and personal life. I do like the fact that this audio book is not scientific and it does not lecture you on stats. His tactics on persuasion feel real and doable for most people. The book is well laid out and it flows naturally. As I said in the title I found the book worth my credit and will listen to it a few more times to etch his teachings into my brain.

One thing I have found useful in reading reviews is to check the book out on Amazon and read the reviews there. I have seen a disturbing trend where these authors (Dave L. included)write up a bunch of 5 star reviews for each other to make them look good. I am sure this will back fire on them as normal readers need to buy the book not just the “Rat Pack” of current self made gurus. I feel this tactic is very dishonest and misleading and a cheap attempt at self promotion.

    Great Persuasion Book

Many great ideas that are explained in a way that you can use them. Would be a 5 star except early in the book there seemed to be a lot of filler.

    Those who can't....

The author narrates this audio book and he is by far the least persuasive speaker I have heard on Audible. It actually made me laugh when the author was on the topic of using your voice to persuade others. The content is unoriginal and disappointing.

    Not worth a credit.

I don't think I got anything out of this book... Seemed like a lot of filler and the author seemed full of himself. He also pushed his products a lot throughout the book.

I'm not sure If this book is worth its weight...

What would have made Persuasion better?

The author is apparently the narrator as well. He sucks at narrating. He speaks to quickly and in monotone. it was very painful to listen to him.

What was funny is that he kept mentioning how it's very important to be effective in story telling, but yet he sucked at it.

I purchased this audiobook because I read some great reviews on the book. I guess reading the book maybe a lot more beneficial than listening to this horrible audio version.

Would you be willing to try another one of Dave Lakhani’s performances?

    NO WAY
