About this listen

When Levy finds himself transported to an unknown place, discoveries of the past will soon shape the future—but it may not be the future that Levy was planning for.

As Levy's connection to the system grows stronger, he learns that he has some sway over the limitations holding him and his fellow sorcerers back from their potential. But as Levy goes down this path, he will learn certain things about the Ancient controlling his homeland that will change the course of everyone's life.

Progression is no longer an option but a necessity for his own survival.

Levy is a support class dependent on a party and uses mind and magic over strength. This story is a stat-heavy, epic loot hunting, complex magic system navigating, dungeon exploring, and party management adventure. All characters are born into this LitRPG world rife with ancient sorcerers and historic rivalries.

I was a little put off by all the different numbers and stats, but the author did an excellent job keeping and explaining the information subtlety and not having drawn out explanations, I really enjoyed this series and hope there might be more, but this one ended a really good note with a possibility of more to come, but if it didn't then nobody would be angry with the end.

awesome storyline

The progression of the story gets weighed-down by stats descriptions, in a complicated but valid way that is different from the typical Litrpg listing of progressive stats. In this third book in the Resistance Above Magic series, B.T Narro and Beatrix Grinn continue to weave the progressive, magical tale of a hero, his Team, and his world in an unusually complicated yet absolutely logical style. The development of the story is slowed, maybe bogged-down by nearly consistent descriptions, justifications, and ramifications of decisions made upon the path of magical growth. The descriptive style is dense, and isn't for everyone. I found myself skipping through minutes as the story is predictable at times. There is an imbalance created by the descriptions that takes away from the drama of the story. It's not bad, but not so much fun of a listen, at times.
Jonathan McClain works wonders again and brings about as much life as a single narrator can to a story with his masterful diction and rich sense of personality to each developed character. A lesser narrator couldn't pull off this complicated style.
I look forward to the next book in this series, and hope that Narro and Grinn continue to develop this novel descriptive style with a better sense of balance.
