About this listen

The Final Sacrifice was made, but then what? In response to an outpouring of questions and comments, Robert W. Ross has created a compendium of novellas that span all seven Sentinels of Creation books and bridges the gap between them and his award-winning science fiction series, Paradigm 2045. Rejoin Kellan, Shannon, and all their friends through the eyes of their son and, once again, experience the magic that is Sentinels of Creation.

Hello, my name is William Thorne. I am the Scion of Amber Light, and this is my story. Well, not my story exactly, more my compendium of the stories told to me by others.

In this audio, you will here tales my Da told me of his early adventures with Mum, how he nearly got himself killed numerous times, and that's just because he upset Mum.

Ha, I jest, well, mostly. It's never wise to make Mum angry. No one likes her when she's angry. She's a Scot, which means she's angry more times than not. Still, she loves her friends well, and Da even better.

Seriously though, the book you are holding contains ten tales that took place somewhere between the years 1261 and 2047. Yeah, I know, that's a pretty big spread, but what can I say other than, Timey Wimey...Wibbly Wobbly.

If you want to learn more about Kellan, Shannon, Meghan, Seramai, Maggie, and others, then settle in, make yourself comfortable, and get ready to enjoy...Stories for William.

Great read/listen

This book for me checks all the boxes.

Great supplement to existing SoC and Pardigm books, Check.
Could read this without having read any of the other books, Check.
As always, great storytelling and story flow, Check.

Stories for William could have easily been parts of the original books that Robert just left out. They fit seamlessly into the storyline and flow. The depth Stories for William gives to already known and loved characters brings the whole story arc even more color and substance.

Nick Poedehl is an absolute master of his craft. You know if he's narrating it, it's going to be stellar. This is my first time hearing Autumn Juliet. She did a great job. Taking well-known voices and making them her own has to be daunting, but I think she did great! Look forward to hearing more from her.

Overall, it's a great story. Takes a bit from all of his books, stories most all of us already know and makes an intriguing, well thought out story for everyone to enjoy.

Mostly great but bad duel narration

love this series and the story. LOVE Nick but didn't like Autumns voice for male characters and Irish accents! I don't want to be mean or deter her from trying but she's not the right fit for male characters.

Fantastic! A must read for all fans of this series!

Fantastic addition to the series! This book is NOT some meaningless filler book. Instead it artfully and seamlessly weaves new stories into the lore that take place both before and after the events of the last book all the way to and beyond the final book of 2045 Paradigm series. Great Easter eggs abound and an intriguing combined universe story is set up by this book as well.

Great Fan Book

if you love this series you will enjoy this book. Yes it's a group of short stories that fans will love, but each story brings you closer to the characters that we love. it also brings together the SOC and paradigm 2045 series. I'm really enjoy the world Ross has created here and can't wait for more!

Sentinels of Creation - Shorts!

Note: This book is a collection of ten short stories set in the 'Sentinel's of Creation' universe. While it is not 'Book 8,' it does take place after the conclusion of Book 7 and will be best enjoyed by those who have previously read the series.

After much thought as to how to best describe 'Stories for William,' the best I can come up with is this: back when movies came out on DVD, sometimes, for really big movies, the movie would come with a whole second DVD full of extras and deleted scenes. This book feels exactly like that second disk of extra goodies.

'Stories for William' is not a novel in the traditional sense, rather a collection of short stories - each centering on favorite characters of the series, and each adorably introduced by (now adult) Willaim Thorne.

These short stories are truly beautiful 'extra goodies.' Prepare yourself for a crazy midnight adventure, some time travel shenanigans, a heart-pounding story of bravery, an example of the depth of true friendship, and...maybe a different side of Meghan? I'd say more, but Ross's surprises are fantastic.

Honestly, this book is straight up a joy to read; having ten mini-story arcs instead of one gives this book a light and breezy feeling. Each story is completely self contained and paced wonderfully, making it a super easy book to read one chunk at a time.

If you've read this series, trust me, you'll love this book.

Must listen!

Love these stories. Now that the big 7 are done this is a nice way to get to revisit some of our favorite characters and see what they had been up to in the in between times of SoC 7 and paradigm books. Also you get some stories that were talked about throughout the 7 SoC books but never where really deep dived into. Having them told as stories to William is awesome! I hope Mr Ross does more stories like this. He calls this book fan service… all I can say is more fan service please!

Great Companion to an Awesome Series

Nick blows it up again. Robert with a great set of stories in one of my favorite series. Keep at it Autumn you will get there. My advice for you is to keep working on the male voices. I thought you did great on all the Female voices.

Excellent, Riveting, and Fun!

William Thorne, the Scion of Amber Light and son to Kellan and Shannon shares his favorite adventures told to him by his highly entertaining and always in trouble father, Kellan. Through these ten stories, we are given more insight into the exploits of Kellan, Shannon, Seramai, Meghan, Ares, Santa, and more. The tales span centuries and connect the Sentinels of Creation and Paradigm 2045 series in a rich and imaginative manner.

The author, Robert W. Ross, excels at world-building and character development; he crafts relatable characters with authentic human traits. Themes of family, strong relationships, honesty, and trust are intricately woven creating deep connections with the listener. His characters find their situations balanced with a mix of humor, action, and poignancy at times. I often find myself laughing and receiving questioning looks.

The narrators, Nick Podehl and Autumn Juliet do an excellent job performing this audiobook. Podehl has a strong and flexible voice that resonates with the personalities of each character consistently. Juliet has a similar style thus maintaining a consistent character presence. Together they do an excellent job of providing an entertaining narrative. Both speak clearly and with a steady cadence accurately projecting the emotion of the situation.

I have always sought authors skilled at transporting their fans into other worlds and lives. Ross, Podehl, and Juliet provide first-class travel there!

There were no issues with the quality or production of this audiobook.

Great continuation of the Sentinels universe

I loved the Sentinels of Creation series and this was a lovely way to dip back into that world for a few hours. I loved Nick Podehl’a continued performance of these characters and really enjoyed having the addition of Autumn Jones for the stories narrated by female characters. It was great to hear about all of the original gang and their kids, especially seeing Maggie all grown up and doing her own thing. This selection of stories tied up a few loose ends from the original series (though I still want the story about Megan teaching Sera how to drive and how he manages to destroy her car!!!). Definitely hope we will get a Stories for Ariel volume too!

All the untold stories I didn’t know I needed!

This is a collection of stories from Robert W. Ross’s Sentinels of Creation universe. It’s wonderful to hear all about some events hinted at in SoC and some entirely new ones too. If you have read SoC then you already know the characters very well and have missed them in your life. Robert knows what his readers crave and this is it.
Autumn does a great job paired with the masterful Nick Podhel.
Dawg Sitter was my favorite. Download and listen to this book today. Today is Today. :)
