Luckily I knew this was an old book rereleased, because the characters do not reflect current attitudes. I love Jayne Ann Krentz but I'll have to stick to more current books. Amy grated on my nerves so badly. 😟

Can't help but love JAKrantz.
Narrator did a ver good job acting out the story.

Very Enjoyable

I hate when a girl bares her soul about being nervous to have sex because her dad and ex boyfriend were cheats and the ex was forceful and vindictive because of her choices. Then 10 minutes later the beau is forcing himself on her in a way that supposed to sound like they are falling love but really he’s thinking to himself “she didn’t want this but I got her here!!” Stop making rape sound like it’s love. Let the heroine make own choices and not be forced into fake love.
Normally I love Jayne Ann krantz’s books but this one makes me too sick to finish it.

Sex scenes are awefull

Narration was very good. Story is dated but that’s to be expected as the book was first published in 1983 as a Harlequin-type book. I just cringed at some of the romance relationship imagery that today people would not be okay with. It’s really amazing how far women have come and how far we still have to go.

Wow hv times changed!

keep in mind this was written in the early 80's; it deals with the emotional decisions of family and responsibility interwoven with a bit of suspense.
(thought the choice of narrator could have been better in my opinion)

timeless...

I don’t understand why the original date is publication isn’t required to be listed. Very deceptive in my mind. Ruined the whole book for me.

An old book

You can tell this is one of her earlier works. But if you want a fun summer read with some quirky dialogue this is it.

Fun light hearted story.

Times have changed since this book was penned---women no longer needa man to order their steps.

An older romance

c1983! It’s interesting to read a ‘contemporary’ book with some mileage on it to see what is temporary, and what is relevant, no matter how much time goes by.
I definitely like Jase much more than Amy as main characters, which made him getting his HEA that much more poignant. I did like Amy’s strength and that she was there for her sister - even if her ex brother-in-law played terrible games that could have divided them.
McFadden did an ok job of narration but this one seemed to be set too much in a higher pitch that gave me a headache.
